I had never worn one of these before and I was not very sure I would like the experience of having (most of) mt face covered. This Thermal Merino Balaclava from SmartWool is comfortable and warm and after a couple of minutes I no longer feel it is there. Nice suprise!

It was very thin and works under a helmet.

To wear to keep My head warm with the ski helmet and kept moist out and it fit good but felt it's too thin in my opinion.

The Smartwool Thermal Merino Balaclava is hands down one of the best cold-weather essentials I've owned. Tried a few different setups, since moving to a snowboard helmet with no liner. And this is is the way! Warm enough, great fit, can manage sweat/snow, and doesn't look crazy. If you're wearing a mountaineering style snow helmet, this is the bit of kit that rounds out the functionality.

I bought this balaclava for walking in our frigid Canadian winter temps. And it did not fail to impress! Kept the wind from my face. Yay! Finally a balaclava that "works".

This thermal merino balaclava is great! I wear it under a helmet, so I needed something thin, but warm. The wool is stretchy and comfortable, and best of all, it keeps me warm during my hour+ hang gliding flights where it can get quite cold!

Very warm and breathable. Good for skiing because it fits easily under a helmet. High quality all around.

I use on 20 degree or lower runs! Awesome! I stick another hat (running ball cap) at times.

This is hard to believe about a Balaclava, but it actually looks good on. I was very surprised. I am really pleased with this purchase. I expected warmth but got "looks good on" too.

Warm and cool! I look so dope in my camo smartwool mask! I walk blocks and yards with ease and warmth. I have a huge head and this thing fits me and my small headed girlfriend alike

I use the balaclava for walking in moderately cold temperatures. I like how the wool breathes and allows perspiration wick away.

Seems Lightweight and warm fits decent.
