Fine shoes in every manner. Fit is as expected for size 11.5 men's. Style, colors, appearance, and movement just right. Waterproof feature & breath ability great add-on. Should last some time due to thickness of sole material. Great grip & non-skid design. I wear these shoes everyday outside for walking, and even to attend casual events. Good value since they are made well, after thoughtful design features were included during construction. Second pair of Solomon's I've owned. They keep getting better at their trade!

Great low hiking shoe!!! Held up well hiking in Vancouver and Alaska. Had 2.5 inches of rain in Vancouver, and kept my feet dry.

I bought these a month ago. Such a game changer for every day and golf that I bought two more pair to sit in the shelf.

I usually use wide shoes and was afraid I was going to have to make a return. Fortunately I can assure these are somewhat wide as standard and have had a very comfortable fit from them.

I purchased these to replace the Outpulse which was discontinued. As much as I liked the Outpulse, this is an improvement. I've been buying Salomon for years and they never disappoint.

Second pair, very comfortable shoes. Great for outdoor activities or chasing the wife down at the mall. Keep up the graet product.

These look cool but I don't think they are designed well. I wore them probably a total of 5 times and in that time got the two worst ankle twists of my life. I never wore them again and am putting them in the trash where they belong. The problem is the sole is super wide and grippy, so it easily catches on things and puts a lot of torque on your foot, but the ankle is very low, so provides no help in resisting that torque. I have loved Salomon shoes in the past but these are terrible. Avoid these!

Right out of the box, these shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! It feels like you are wearing slippers, though you can still feel the terrain under your feet. They are perfectly waterproof up to the ankle, though on super-hot days, your feet may get a bit warm (the price you pay for Gore-Tex). I have had issues with other Salomon shoes with ripping on the top along the toe line, but these uppers seem softer and less brittle, so I am hoping it won't happen this time. Great for any terrain - quite happy with these shoes!

Very light and comfortable right out the box. I agree with some of the other reviews: they are snug, making 'em a bit tougher to put on and the laces are kinda wonky if you need to re-lace but neither are significant enough to be a deal breaker. Thus far, have only tried on granite & dirt in dry conditions but grip seems adequate. My only complaint is the lack of waterproof/Gore-tex options. As a desert rat, I don't need or want that in my hiking shoes.

I love this shoe! As far as durability, comfort, waterproofing, etc, it's what I e come to expect from Salomon. The only problem I have, and I don't know what causes it exactly, but the flat laces that just go through the slots cut in the shoe makes the laces extremely hard to slip through the holes when putting the shoe on and off.
For example, with my X Ultra 4 Mids, I took the laces off the speed hooks, and removed my foot, and the laces were out of the way. Then to put them on, I just slide my foot in, and pull the laces over the speed hooks, and they just slip through perfectly!
Whereas with these Elixir Active Mids, even after owning a couple months, it's a pain to get those laces to slip through, and I'll end up avoiding these shoes some days because of that.
Other than that though, they're still great shoes! Some of my favorites! The lace thing just makes them a pain sometimes.

It's, so far, way better than good and closer to excellent, with one exception. To be real, maybe it's my foot; but I find these shoes difficult to put on. The way the tongue is made provides a super tight entry point, making the pull tab at the back of the shoe an absolute necessity. Hope you're still reading. Once on, the shoe is super comfortable and supportive on all terrain.

The shoes I bought are very comfortable. I enjoy wearing them. Worthy of 5 stars.
However, my wife also bought these shoes and is not pleased with them. One of them "clicks" when she walks in it. Salomon will not take them back if you've worn them. So, how would one know if there is a problem without wearing them. Salomon Customer Service told her there is an air pocket in there but would not cover them under warranty. Seems like a manufacturing issue to me. I will never buy directly from Salomon again. NEVER.

Too narrow and uncomfortable for wide foot, may be good for someone else, I returned them and bought Keen's.
