I ordered this jacket specifically because it has the under arm ventilation zippers

I really like this jacket. It's well made and keeps me warm on cold rainy/snowy days. My only criticism is the hook side of the velcro that may be used to fasten the jacket together sticks to the jacket fabric and causes it to become noticably fuzzy and worn. This is especially a problem with the collar velcro. I would give it five stars except for the velcro issue.

Bought this coat about a month ago; really like it.
Feels less substantial than the one it replaces but light but very warm.
I'm getting used to it and recommend it.
One change I don't like though is the lighter zipper. You have to go out of your way to make sure the zipper is seated before you zip it up. If you don't it'll unseat at the bottom and that's annoying. At $230 for a "rugged" coat this seems wrong. The older zippers were more coarse but never had issues.
FYI, I have the same issue with a HH jacket I have. When that occurred I said no more HH, back to Columbia. Go figure.
I'm 5'10, 165lbs, bought a large which fits fine. Suggest the zippers get replaced on next-gen models.

Its definitely a good jacket. However im very disappointed with the size guide that columbia offers.
First of all size calculator that takes Height (183cm) , Weight (90kg), Age (39) and Pant waist(39in) as an input suggested that i should choose XL and here i felt something is wrong. Cause according to the size chart my body measures falls somewhere between M and L. And what is also interesting that when i change the age to 16 in calculator it suggests size L instead of XL. So i didin't risk to get M and choose L instead. L is a bit loose on me so probably i dint made a mistake here but again not sure if it was a best fit cause sizing is not clear even according to the chart.

The size L was too tight and the XL was way too big.
I wore it once and I didnt think it was anything to rave about.
Had to order online because the store didnt have any XL. They charge for delivery and deduct for returning it.

I have to be honest.as I was waiting on this to be delivered, I kept thinking how warm could this jacket really be? How well would it serve as an insulated rain jacket?
As soon as I picked it up at the front door, before I even had it outside of its packaging, I knew I had received a serious jacket. I was seriously impressed when I saw it and put it onthis is one first class jacket!!
Its super warm, although to be completely upfront, I have not tested it in cold weather. But Ive worn enough jackets/coats in my 65 years to know when I have a good one. The zipped-in liner (a puffy jacket itself), on its own, is comfortable and toasty. The construction is so well thought outelastic pull cords on the rain hood, at the waist as well, the well-zippered pockets, the velcro-tightening sleeves, the zipped underarm vents, the secret forearm zipped pocket (keys, lift pass, etc.).well, this jacket is a keeper for sure.
Thank you, Columbia!! Well done.WELL DONE!!
(I am a large in most cases. I ordered a large and it fit me perfectly, with room to move)
(Tip for buyers: when you first pull on the rain hood, you may be wondering why its so big, and when pulled on, will cover your eyes. Well, there is a velcro attachment at the very top/outside of the hood that allows you to adjust just how far forward the hood will come over your face. There are also pull cords that snug it up against your face!)

I had an earlier model of this jacket and it lasted about ten years, This one is a bit stiffer and is water proof, Good length and I can take the inner vest out. Should be excellent for winter hikes and snowsoeing.

Great multilayered coat. Both parts fit great, easy to separate outer coat from inner coat.

I love the versatility of this jacket and warmth! I love that I can add the extra layer when needed, and that it comes with the added protection from the elements! This is the second jacket of this style from Columbia that Ive purchased. The first one I purchased over 5 years ago and its still in excellent condition. Columbia just makes amazing products!
