Product defective!! Buckle anchor had come out of shoe..It was obvious!! Sold me a defect at full price

The shoes were defective. One of the buckles was completely detached...the anchor into the shoe had come out and I tried to get it back in and attached and could not. Very disappointed because the defect is very obvious

Terrible. Cheap leather, stiff. Very painful to wear and fit was really bad. I guess I have to kiss my 20s goodbye.

I didn't buy these shoes through Zappos; I ordered them through Amazon - AND returned them. I agree with the other reviewer here that the leather doesn't feel anything like leather at all. It feels exactly like stiff, unyielding, thin vinyl that will crack at the bend in the toe before long. I ordered the same size as my three other pair of DMs bought between 1999 and 2007. These Mary Janes were a full size too small. The sizing has definitely changed since they moved manufacturing from the U.K. to Asia. I love the way these looks, but I didn't reorder in a better size because they just looked so uncomfortable. (The sole seems fine, the upper is the problem.) There is NO WAY you could slip this shoe on. You'd have to unbuckle both buckles each time (which is REALLY difficult because of the incredibly unbendable material). I'm tremendously disappointed that a classic and once-quality shoe company is selling out its customers with cheap product just to make a little more profit. Shame on you, Dr. Martens.

I am so very sad! I ordered these after reading several reviewers' opinions stating that they were a reasonable facsimile of the 1990's version of this shoe though perhaps a little larger/longer. I had such high hopes. These 8065s turned out to be almost impossibly bad. I have my 1990's version of this shoe at hand (and I love them, though they are a bit too short) and the new version fails in every way. The material looks cheap and decidedly unleatherlike. The buckles are nearly impossible to unbuckle and adjust and are set such that no human foot could possibly find its way into the shoe. The insole is weird and removable and unlike any Dr. Martens shoe that I have ever seen. I am so disappointed in these and will turn my money and my efforts into figuring out a way to make my old pair more wearable for my (now 20 years older and slightly larger) feet.

Rediculously stiff. I would have to set my alarm 15 minutes early to allow enough time to get them on. No thanks, I love to sleep!

I've worn Docs for years. Instead of my usual Oxford style, I opted for these Mary Janes. They're definitely cute. However, the quality is not the usual Doc quality. The leather was thin and extremely stiff. Docs usually fit a little loose on me but these are overly snug and dig into my foot along the edges. I compared the exterior size of the shoe to my old Docs and they are exactly the same size so I feel confident that the shoe is the size it should be. I am quite disappointed in how the quality and comfort of the shoe has declined. I'm sad to say that I'm returning these shoes and going to find something comparable to the old Docs quality and comfort.

If you are looking to replace the ones that you fell in love with in 1995 - don't. These look similar, but are made in China, not England where they used to be made. They are cheap, flimsy and the leather upper is very thin, I almost thought it was not leather at all. I know it is leather, but you could actually convince me that it isn't, it's that cheap looking and feeling. Also the tongue, where the buckles are threaded, is narrower and it puckers - it's not as nice and flat and wide as it used to be, with the good heavy leather. While they are comfortable, for now, I can tell the inside has cheap lining and not the good leather it used to be, either. I am returning these, the price is a lot to pay. Steer clear.

With a heavy heart I had to return these. I've wanted them for years and finally had the money. The UK 6 were too big, there was a gap at my heel and they looked clunky. The UK 5 looked adorable, but were way too small.
