I am incredibly disappointed in these shoes. I am a loyal Brooks shopper and I have worn these for a week. The fabric is already torn and it rubs my toes in areas that Ive never had problems before with my Glycerins. I was traveling with these out of the country and needed the waterproof properties for long hikes. Would definitely not recommend! Ended up having to purchase different shoes while on the trip.

Originally bought them for increased traction during winter road runs, but they've also become my summer hiking shoe. More comfortable than hiking boots but just as rugged, they keep my feet dry through mud and river crossings. Great shoe.

Thiz is my first time dabbling in Brooks brand, and I must say I am quite impressed! They are sturdy, comfortable, and well made. I have wide feet (especially after having kiddos), so I need a generous toe box, and these have the perfect amount of room right where I need it, while also hugging all the right places. They are supportive where they should be and flex where they need to. Good amount of spring too. They hit slightly lower on the heel than my go to running shoe, so I wore a bandage there just in case they rubbed differently than I'm used to, but I don't think I needed it. While I've only gotten to take them on a proper trail twice thus far, which happens to be during the dry summer, they performed swimmingly, I can readily tell they have enough grip to handle even more difficult terrains during the wet Pacific Northwest seasons. I appreciate the extra protection the water resistent toe/side overlays are sure to provide. They are also surprisingly light for how rugged they are. Aesthetically, I love the design. Just the right amount of pink and yellow color pops coupled with a pleasing neutral shaded blue amd charcoal grey. I especially like the perfectly placed pink contrast stitching. Overall, I'd say they're a quality trail runner and a happy foot investment!

These water proof tennis shoes are absolutely a game changer. Where I live, we get a ton of rain, so these are well worth it for me to be able to continue to run during these times. These shoes fit true to size for me, and the laces are made to actually stay tied. The water proof material is very effective. The only improvement would be to somehow prevent water from entering around the ankle, as that can sometimes be an issue, however these are still a huge improvement. The design is nice, although I do wish there were more options, girlier options. Overall, a great, great product!

The Cascadia 18 GTX shoe initially seemed to require going half a size up, but after using them, they turned out to be true to size. Breaking them in was a bit challenging, causing tingling in my feet on day 1 after just 20 minutes. While there was discomfort in the heel, the shoe provided good support during climbs. It's suitable for hiking and trail running due to its practical design, including a durable Gore-tex mudguard toe cap and biomimetic traction design inspired by mountain goat hooves. The grip and security during hikes were impressive. However, it may not be the most comfortable for everyday wear or casual walking. As someone with a narrow, high-arched foot and a true size 8 in sports shoes, I have mixed feelings about the Cascadia 18 GTX and plan to test them further on different trails for a more comprehensive review. I appreciate the opportunity to test the Cascadia 18 GTX shoe at no cost.

Brooks are always my go to running shoes and these also did not disappoint! These are super durable, comfortable, and great for outdoor running! The tread on the bottom is great for gaining traction, making it an awesome shoe for hiking and running on trails/paths - which I love! The shoes are super lightweight, making it great for running! They are also super cute - love the colors/design and the fact they are dark so any mud wont stain! I always order up in running shoes as I prefer them more roomy for when I run - more comfortable for my toes; however, I think they are true to size or run a little large if anything! I would also love to be able to use them both outside and on the treadmill - so thats another downside because the tread would likely ruin it. But otherwise an overall wonderful running shoe for outdoor!

I overall love the shoes and the look of them, they are very cute. I have bigger/wider feet so I feel like they were a little bit snug but nothing unbearable. The design is great and theres plenty of cushion and support to keep them comfortable. The fabric is breathable so my feet arent overheating and getting wet during workouts. I feel like the only thing that I would change is the color optionsI like more neutral colors to go with everything and these are a bit out there for me, but still very cute.

Im so loving the Cascadia 18 GTX shoes. Theyre beautiful to start with! Such nice shoes and they fit like a glove. I love the little holder on the outer tongue so you can stick your shoelaces in it to keep them from bouncing around and coming untied. Its nice not having to worry about your shoes untying. Theyre breathable yet waterproof. The soles have the perfect grip for walking and running on sidewalks and streets. Ive not tried running inside yet with them but Im sure theyll do great because I can walk fine on tiles, etc. The colors are fun and look nice together. I would totally recommend these shoes because they feel like Im wearing nothing and are so cozy.

I really like these trail runners. The laces are really great, which seems like a silly thing to comment on but they are easy to tie and stay put. I love the width of the shoe and when I first put them on I thought Id live in them. I dont usually buy wide shoes but have small bunions so a flexible material on top near the toe box is always a plus. Though they are wide, the material is pretty stiff. Hoping they soften up a bit. Traction is great and they give a little bounce. I like how they look too. Bright but not too bright!

The Brooks Cascadia 18 GTX shoes have been a fantastic find for trekking through the woods and exploring. Heres what I love about them: These shoes look great, perfect for both trails and casual wear. They offer soft cushioning, keeping my feet comfortable during longer hikes. The grip is excellent, giving me confidence on rocky trails and muddy paths. The Gore-Tex material keeps my feet dry, and they are surprisingly breathable, even in the Texas heat. They fit true to size with enough room for a chunkier sock, which will be ideal for cooler mornings. Theyre a bit stiff at first due to the waterproof material, but they break in nicely after a few hikes. Overall, the Cascadia 18 GTX shoes have become my go-to for trail running and hiking. If youre looking for reliable and stylish trail shoes, these are definitely worth checking out!

This is my first pair of trail running shoes Ive used for the purpose of hiking and Im never going back. The amount of support and stability I felt while wearing these was at a level Ive never felt before. The grip on the bottom makes me feel sure footed on the steepest of inclines/declines, even while carrying a child on my back. I personally dont want/need a lot of cushion in a hiking or running shoe, and this shoe turned out perfect for me with a mid level of cushion and arch support. The shoe is also quite light which I loved. One thing I would change would be to make them more breathable because they did get pretty warm, but Im sure they have to be that way since they are water proof. Overall, Im very happy with this shoe!

Great sneaker for outdoor use! The fit was comfortable and true to size but ran a little wide. Beautiful design. Great colors and I liked that it was darker colors so when I used it outside the dirt didnt show as much. Love the breathable fabric! Soft and waterproof. My favorite feature of this sneaker is the grip. I was confident wearing it that I would not slip while running outside. It felt nice and sturdy. I also really liked the shoe laces. It stayed on tight and did not come loose. Its a great sneaker for outdoor use but I would not use it indoors. I used it on the treadmill and it was not the best shoe for that. I felt every vibration when running. Overall, I would recommend this sneaker for outdoor use.

These sneakers are an absolute dream for off-road walking/ running! I'm just starting to get back into walking trails after having my second daughter. The Cascadia 18 GTX provides great support for rocky and uneven terrain. Shoe fabric is strong enough to keep your feet dry, but light enough not to be a burden in the extreme heat we've been facing this summer.

I'm in love with these sneakers! Though the color is striking and vivid, my favorite aspects of them are their tread and comfort! When I go trekking, the support is excellent and the tread is really grippy. For hiking in the woods, these are ideal because of their waterproof material. I adore the fit, and that they feel so light. These Brooks Cascadia 18 GTX sneakers are excellent, and my new go to!

These shoes have a pretty wide toe box even for a medium fit shoe, so that is nice. The softness is good as well. They updated the DNA Loft (midsole) to be softer and lighter along with adding more stack height. Wear wise, I have noticed a little bit of compression of the midsole along my back heel and at the flex point of my foot. The outsole is still holding up really well, so they really are durable since I wear them a lot. They are perfect for runners and mountain hikers with adaptable stability with trial ready protection to keep you going. The toe cap on them is a little sturdier, in my opinion. The colors and designs are sleek and modern. I like the variety of colors to choose from. The outsole rubber provides enhanced traction on wet and dry surfaces, so I have a sturdy foothold on most surfaces and feel confused while wearing these shoes. I really like the breathable mesh because it is quick-drying and allows my feet to breathe so they don't get sweaty or hot. If you love Trail running then these are a wonderful pair of shoes to get.

Not very supportive and not sized correctly. Did not fit very well compared to my previous cascadias; I had heel slip and the toe box seemed too short/narrow.

I returned them as they did not fit well. The toe box felt smaller than previous cascadia. I wish I could have kept them used them. I LOVE my Cascadia 16, but you missed the mark with the 18s.

I'm usually a big fan of Brooks and have purchased many Brooks Ghost shoes and wear a sz 10. Unfortunately, the sizing with this Brooks hiking shoe is way different. I couldn't even get my foot into a sz 10; the length and width were way off. If you do order, consider getting a whole size larger than what you usually wear.
I'd also recommend:

I love the old Cascadia, especially the first pair I had: Cascadia 13 GTX. Hiked 125KM on the Camino de Santiago with absolutely no problem. They are just not the same any more. I have narrow feet and the old Cascadia design fit well and had extra spring in my step. This 18 has a wider toe box. I had to go UP from an 8.5 to a 9 (also had a 16 GTX 8.5 which fit). The 9 is still short, feels hard & stubby at the toe AND my heel comes out. If I hadn't missed the return window due to traveling, I would definitely send it back.

The shoes looked great and I was very excited to get them. When I tried them on, though, they were much too small. The same was true for the pair I ordered for my husband. We have both worn Cascadia's for many years and ordered the exact same size that normally fits us. In the GTX version, however, the sizing is way off. If you get these, expect to order at least a full size up from your normal running shoe size (which is probably already sized up). We returned both pairs.

Why can't Brooks offer all their shoes in wide widths? Great shoe but too tight in M. I had read this in other reviews but tried them anyway. I suppose I could buy the men's and hope they fit but the color is off. Seriously, Brooks, why not make all your shoes in W, too?
