This shoe is cushioned, springy, and fast. I've worn it for a nine-mile workout and it easily shaved off about 15 seconds per mile at same effort compared to Clifton trainers. My biggest complaint is the narrow toe box. Race shoes are supposed to fit like a glove, but not constrict. These are constricting. In addition, the heel material is thin, and it rubs a bit. I got a small blister near my ankle from the first wear.

I like them for short runs or short races. I am an avid distance runner so they aren't cushioned enough for my slower pace but still were comfy, stable, and roomy. I went up a size in them and glad I did. They run a bit narrow and small. I did great in my short races and got a new PR. They did well on mileage up to 5/7 miles but I didn't go any further because I know what I need and these are more for shorter runs for me. I may consider a half but that's as far as I think I can go but prefer to use them in my 5k or 10ks instead. Well done but just not for a long distance for me but a great shoe.

I buy many HOKA shoes per year. These were by far the worst. Although the product was fine once I got them on my feet, the shoe was extremely difficult to get on. If you are like me and take your shoes off and on all day, that became a real chore. I tried to analyze the issue. I think the fabric itself was too thin, so somehow that made the shoes lace up too tight. Every time I tried to put them on I had to loosen the laces all the way up to the top and then tighten again all the way down. It was a production. Furthermore, it also meant the shoes had a tendency to be laced too tight when I was wearing them, and that made them uncomfortable from a circulation perspective. I purchased these shoes on the internet without having tried them first. Now I am more careful about the fabric construction and will return any made with the same material. I usually buy Bondis, which have (so far) not been a problem getting on and off. But these were too constricting. I cannot recommend.

Fit is okay, a little narrow. Doesn’t seem to propel quite as well as the Nike or brooks shoes I e tried in this price range. The padding is medium, neither bouncy nor exceptionally firm. The clear upper is great if you want to show off your socks, but means this probably won’t be retired to a casual shoe after it hits its mileage. They’ll do, but I wouldn’t buy again.

Gave me a baaaad blister the first 2 runs. Medical tap fixed the issue but will return cause I shouldn't have to fix. Might be cause o have small feet and a small amount of the material is not as flexible enough.

They are nice running shoes, though I think there are other shoes that are better for the price. Overall they are bouncy and comfortable, though I was feeling them too much after a 20km run.

Disappointed because the shoe was not like the shoe in this picture. It was purple and gray instead.

I don't get the unisex sizes offered by Hoka in some of the shoes. It's usually with road shoes intended for speed training or racing. These shoes are too narrow and also have all-around undersizing. Maybe it's a numbers game: Hoka doesn't think there's enough runners out there that want a speed/plate shoe, but have normal to wide feet. Even the idea of unisex is kind of weird - men's and women's feet are different. So go figure.
As for the Rocket X 2, too narrow, too small all around, no heel support, a bit flimsy.

I am so confused. Every pair of HOKA's I've purchased has been wide..A generous sock allowing width, which I really appreciate, even though I don't wear socks with my tennis shoes.
I find the expanse great because I do have slight bone spurs on both feet.
But this pair!? My toes were stacked on top of each other.
I even checked the box and inside of the shoe to see if I was accidentally sent the wrong size.
No such luck.
I was soooo excited for this shoe!
Super bummed and returned it today:(
