I bought these to try compression socks for skiing. I tried just one sock on, once, and the knit fabric was visibly pilled compared to the other sock, see attached photo. Perhaps just cosmetic but brand new socks should not degrade so quickly. Perhaps a characteristic of the amount of stretch in a comp. sock? For a relatively expensive product I am disappointed and sent back the 2nd pair.

Sorry to say these ski compression socks are a total fail for me. I am older and very active so my doctor tells me to wear compression socks. I had a few pair of Smartwool that are excellent but time has worn them out. Similar socks are not available so I ordered the ski socks. Workmanship and material are excellent but this style has a thickened pad where boot laces would be. That extra pad adds so much compression that it puts a pattern onto my skin that itches like fire that lasts for hours. Tried again, same results. Not good at all.
