Having been an 8-year customer, I am very disappointed that HOKA engineers decided to make the next Mach X version an irresponsible design that caused many runners/users heel discomfort or injury. The 17 runners I know would much rather have the same design and a superior run of the original Mach X, vs. HOKA engineers just wanting to try something new. Most runners I know who tried the Mach X2 said the shoe didn't feel right, especially in the heel.
To make matters worse, 1 day after I received my shoes and knew they didn't fit, I asked to return, was given a UPS label, and tracking shows HOKA received the shoe.
One month later, HOKA didn't refund the money. If HOKA received the shoes back, per UPS tracking, the shoes are "returned" and "received" by HOKA. It's been over 4 weeks and no refund. Until HOKA decides to stop drastically changing their shoe designs that now make runners injured, and HOKA decides to refund money when HOKA promptly received the shoes back, I will be using a new Shoe supplier.

I had high hopes for these shoes. First 2 miles were ok then I started felling some rubbing and heat on my back of my foot. By mile 3 I had to take them off and go it in my socks. Very painful blisters.

I loved the Mach X. It was a perfect fit, great stride alignment, and my racing shoe... About 6 weeks out from Boston I maxed milage of my Mach X so bought these. I understand making enhancements of new models but totally changing a shoe?? Putting bumps inside at the heel?? I will never understand. I am SO upset.. I was warned so I eased into them to break them in, running shorter distances/speed work and thought I was ok. I was very wrong. My first longer milage run, they completely ripped up my heels. This was my favorite shoe and now I don't know what to do. I'm extremely disappointed plus I now don't have time to try to find a new shoe ahead of my race. Horrible experience.

I bought the same type and size before but in a different color scheme. This pair feels and fits different and I got the worst blisters of my life. Really painful. I will still buy Hokas as I'm hoping this was a one time fluck (agonizing and expensive).

I have run multiple marathons and half marathons in the hoka mach X and absolutely loved them. I was excited to try the Mach X 2 and although they look great, I had multiple blisters on my heels within the first 3 miles of running in them! Had to return them and track down another pair of the original Mach X.

Purchased a pair of Mach x2 and within a few months already falling apart (barely 60 miles on them)
I sent in for warranty but I was denied. HOKA definitely don't back their products.

I love the Mach X, and was so excited to get the new MachX2 but these gave me terrible blisters. Please change back to the original heel design.

I've been a serious runner for 20 years and never returned a shoe in my life before this one. The heels are really really really bad and left me with horrible cuts on both my heels after a single 7 mile tempo run even though I explicitly tried running with taller&thicker socks since I saw reviews saying your heels would get cu but ignored when purchasing them.

Is the most ridiculous shoe HOKA ever put its name on. It is supposed to be a women's 10.5 wide, but it is more narrow than my Brooks 11 regular, it squishes my toes. I'm sending it back.

Horrible fit and quality, like it came from a fake site! What's up with the sheer mesh top? Not happy returning.

I've never left a shoe review. But after being forced to walk the last two miles home today thanks to an injury brought on by these pieces of garbage I had to come and give my 2 cents. Guys, whoever redesigned this shoe to be a literal piece of poo needs to be demoted. You had the perfect trainer and an upper that was forgiving to the user. This new upper destroys my Achilles and rips all the skin off of them until they are bloody (yes I wear high socks too, still shreds my Achilles) and it managed to rip the skin off the entire bottom of my pinky toe. I'd give this shoe a negative 10 if I could. What a massive waste of my money and thanks for the injury this definitely is going to set me back quite a few days. I hope the mach x 3s fix these issues but you can be sure I won't be buying it. Goodbye forever.

I have three pairs of the original Mach X and LOVE them so naturally I bought these the moment they came out. Unfortunately they are a massive letdown. The upper is terribly fitted and the shoe was immediately uncomfortable. Super disappointing. I'm trying to buy up the Mach X before it is gone forever.
@Hoka please bring the Mach X back, the 2 was NOT an improvement.

I have had multiple shoes from HOKA and was a big fan. I am so sad (and a bit angry) that these are so bad. I had blisters on the back of my heels in 2 miles!!
What the heck are the ridges inside the heels??
Do not order these - I wish I had read the reviews before ordering...
Sad I,

I only wore these shoes four times. On the fourth wear, the tread peeled off of the bottom of the shoe.

I have several pairs of original Mach X and loved them. I have tried the Mach 6 but they don't have the propulsion plate and the difference is noticeable. There was heel slip that seemed to resolve by using the most proximal lace hole, but this try was just normal walking. Did a 5 k this am and the heel counter rubbed a bleeding, torn blister at the base of each Achilles. There is no padding in the area except on the sides. The heel counter has a very flimsy tab that folds under making the hard edge of the heel counter without any protection. There is also no padding at all under the tongue so it is difficult to cinch down the laces. I could never use these for triathlon as they are not easy ti slip on.

I gave this a chance but sadly this is the worst shoe I've ran in ever. The upper is not cloth and is a rubber material, and already uncomfortable. The heel has no padding or collar, so that rubber material chaff and rubs the daylights out of yorlur heel.

Absolutely loved this shoe, for a mile. Then I had razor blades digging into my heals. I always use a heal lock when I lace and no amount of loosening, adjusting, tightening, praying, wound help. I ended up pulling my orthotics out so my foot would sit lower in the shoe and walked.

I had high hopes but they were crushed within minutes. I was expecting baby Cielo x1. The heel is AWFUL. It rubbed horrible. Not even a runners tie helped. Returning them before I get the blister the was forming.
