I've been wearing SG GTX since version 4. I've had my new SG6 GTXs for about a week. They seem stiffer than the 5s; as a result, the 5s seem more stable--I fit *in* the 5s, but I feel like I'm "on top" of the 6s, which I don't like as much. The 5s felt like they adhered to the surface--trail, rocks, beach-- for running and for walking through sloppy stuff in wet weather. The 6s feel more like hiking boots, with their stiffer, less flexible sole. I adopted a more cushioned insole (Powerstep) than my usual Superfeet green to compensate.
I suppose the 6's might wear longer--some people knocked the 5s because they wore out, but I didn't mind because they did their job superlatively. I don't like them *too* flexible (like Asics Kayanos) but I appreciate the cushion for running and walking as my feet are kind of beat up but I'm not done with them yet. I haven't tried these on a hike yet, so possibly I'd appreciate the stiffness more; I use them for walking (5+ miles most days) and some running (usually 3 miles a few times a week; though I use other shoes as well). These actually feel a lot more like my Asics GT2000 GTXs, which use primarily for running.
I also notice that, with being stiffer, the sole seems to drop under my toes more--making my walks more like rocking steps. Don't like this so much.
I may give these another week of intensive trial but at this point I am considering returning them and getting a pair of 5s.

Very disappointed with the fit of this shoe specifically the shoe tongue. Very tight and impossible to put on. Had to return and will look at other models.

Nice shoe. My typical new balance size was 10 1/2 wide. I had to go with a 12 wide with the shoe.

The shoe is tight if you have a high instep.

I bought these specifically because they are offered in wide, the wide version is somehow narrower than many non wide shoes of the same size, and much narrower than my old Hoka’s these replaced. They are also generally uncomfortable and after a few walks the right shoe is making a noise with every step. A big disappointment.

My boyfriend loves them. Aesthetically they are really great looking. He said they’re a little stiff at first compared to the Clifton’s but he finds them very comfortable.

Lightweight and comfortable, Also water resistant. Trail shoe has plenty of grip on bottom for golf.

I'm very happy with my purchase, especially the waterproofing. My only criticism is that they are a bit narrow for my feet and have to be laced loosely.

Living in Michigan and the winter time we have a lot of cold wet days. The shoes keep my feet dry and warm love them.

I am 58 6'8" tall and 275 pounds. I have had multiple surgeries on my left foot and have struggled to find a pair of golf shoes that have enough cushion, support, and room across the toe box. My thought was that a trail running shoe tread looks very similar to a spikeless golf shoe. I purchased a pair of Speedgoat 6's to try my theory out, and they were amazing. The only issue was they were not very water resistant, so I purchased a pair of the GTX's to see how they performed in damp/rainy conditions. I walked my first round of golf in the GTX's for the first time in over 25 years, and they were fantastic right out of the box. I highly recommend them as an alternative to golf shoes and encourage anyone with the same issues as me to give them a try. I have not slipped or lost traction on a swing or walking up and down hills in damp conditions.

After wearing through two pair of the Challengers over the past few years, I wanted to try something with a relatively smaller footprint but the same comfort/support. These have been a welcome addition! Already put nearly 100K on them in the month since receiving them. ZERO break-in time needed. Put them on and I'm ready to explore the world again!

I recently retired my speedgoat 2 for the speedgoat 6 gtx. I wait tables in National Parks, most recently grand canyon ans bryce canyon and put these shoes through the ringer. The grip, comfort and durability o the goat is all awesome!

I own 5 pairs of HOKA shoes! Great color options, they fit perfect. I no longer buy other brands. I have feet issues, balance a pain, this brand reduces and in most cases eliminates any discomfort.

Absolutely love my new Speedgaot 6 shoes. Great fit and comfortable. Aggressive tread design that are nice and grippy. I got the Goretex as well as we like to seek out waterfalls.

We do a lot of hiking domestic and abroad. The upgraded technology of the Speedgoat 5 & 6 is amazing. The Gortex shell ensures that your feet will stay dry (unless you step in water over your ankles!). We couple this with Dirty Girl gaiters and stand by the combination of the two.

Finally! A WIDE width GTX shoe for us Fred Flintstone feet. I purchase a new Hoka show about 3-4 months and rotate out the old/worn for about 5 years now. I've been trying to find one I can get dirty, dig holes, water, and not slide down embankment weed wacking the blackberry's in. This is it! I've been using outside 3-4 days a week with no slipping in mud. I finally feel stable. Thankfully!
So far no issues fit is nice and roomy so if I am working in winter I have room for thick socks! Fair warning GTX means waterproof. So your feet need to breathe. I forgot about that and had to wear my clothes for over 27 hours straight. My feet looked like I was at the water park all day. I just knew I would have blisters where it rubbed. I put aloe vera on and a blister hydrocolloid bandaid each bunion. The next day. Nothing!! My nameless other brands would give me blisters in less than 8 hours of doing that. Please, keep up the good work and more fun colors in wides please
