I typically wear Brooks but these are my first pair of waterproof shoes. I put them on right out of the box and was able to wear them all day without problem. So far I've only worn them in wet weather once, but they held up.

These shoes are cozy for winter running. They're warm and (so far) are keeping my feet dry even in 2 inches of slush. I just wish they came in a Wide width. I bought a half-size larger than normal to accommodate my wide foot, but they're still a little snugger than I'd like.

I have a similar pair that I have worn for 2 years. They are still comfortable after replacing the insole, but I am overdue for a new pair. This Ghost 16 GTX is waterproof and that makes the top a little more rigid and feels too small. I will probably order another Brooks style to replace my original Brooks shoes.
I'd also recommend:

These fit totally differently than the other ghost versions. They are very snug and not very comfortable even though I ordered the same size I have ordered for years. I thought they just needed some breaking in, but the more I wear them the more I dislike them. I should have just returned them immediately. The one positive is that my feet have stayed drybut I wont be wearing them anymore. Very expensive mistake.

I have owned at least 10 pair of ghosts, this is my first time buying the Gore-Tex version. For some reason, they fit more snug and seem a little small on me. No idea why that would be, the same size Ive been ordering for years. A little bit frustrated about it.

I am 74 with normal foot and knee issues for my age. These shoes have worked well for me with my own cushioned inserts. As a walking shoe on paved/hard surfaces, they perform well- good support and decent traction. They are great shoes for travel and out and about in the damp fall and winter in the PNW. My second pair with GTX. I needed to order a half size up for a good fit. Recommend.

I wanted to be able to wear these to walk in the rain downtown. However, when the tread is wet, it becomes slippery on some of the metal sidewalk grates. I have not tried them on wet rocks, but I assume they will have the same problem if I wear them to hike. An improvement in the tread is needed if these are to be useful for walking in wet conditions.

good shoewaterproof top, warmer then normal running shoes. The cushioning to great. Since we have snow here, it may be more an inside than outside shoe during the winter months. But if it dry out i love it for fast walks.

Sometimes GTX version of a shoe would be less comfortable and does not fit as well, I was happy to discover its not the case with Ghost 16 GTX. They fit great and are comfortable.

My usually size of 7.5 med in Brooks, Asiscs, and Saucony fits. The width works great for me. I mainly got these shoes because they are waterproof. I am giving a 4 out of 5 stars because of the insoles. For me, it needs the max cushioning insole. I really wish Brooks would offer their insoles for sale so that I could wear more of their shoes or at least make the max cushioning insole an option for any of their shoes.

Love these! Was slightly skeptical about the breathable and waterproof but Brooks nailed it! These sneakers are wicked comfortable and super supportive. Laces have a slight stretch to them, but once you get used to tying them accordingly not an issues at all. Highly recommend!

Harder insole then ghost 14 and ghost 15! They hurt my feet after just 2 minutes. I sent them back.

Sometimes waterproof shoes are not as comfortable as the regular shoes because of the waterproof membrane. Not so with these. They are as comfortable as my regular brooks 16's are. I have a lot of foot problems, and I love these shoes. They feel great.

I was very excited to get this shoe as the many people I know with Brooks all say good things about them. Excitement quickly turned into disappointment. The shoe is extremely tight in the toe box. I do not have wide feet and was considered to have narrow feet when I was younger so a regular width shoe should not feel tight. I wore them to work thinking they might need to be broken in. I work in Healthcare so I'm on my feet all day. My toes and soles of my feet hurt so bad by the end of the day, I couldn't wait to take them off. I've never had tennis shoes hurt my feet before. The shoes fit fine length wise so not sure if a bigger size would have made a difference. The teal color is very pretty and that is the only good thing about the shoe. Anyone buying this shoe should be weary, buy a size up and get them in wide.

Good fit. Decent support for being one feet all day. I prefer the Glycerin for more stability however. The fabric has held up better than OC so far.

When I first opened the box, I thought these shoes looked weird now seeing them in person with the total black on black and the perforated little holes and the chunky soles. I was regretting thinking they were not really quite my typical style. The shoes actually reminded me of the funky old slip-resistant restaurant shoes that I was required to wear back in the day when I was a server. First impressions aside, when I pulled the first shoe out of the box I immediately noticed how incredibly lightweight they feel! To try them on, I loosened up the laces and noticed that the laces felt like a really nice heavier quality that will actually (hopefully) last. The fabric of the overall shoe is also quite soft and cushioned. After I slipped my foot in, I realized these shoes fit me perfectly! They do not feel too wide in the toes or too narrow which is often an issue with some running shoes. Theres also nothing worse than wearing a shoe that comes up too high and rubs against your ankle the whole time so I really like the way these shoes have incorporated a deeper curve on the sides. The curves allow the shoe to fit comfortably on top and well below my ankle area. The inside footbed also has some decently comfortable cushioning. I was not expecting this shoe to provide any sort of change to my height but the thick soles do actually create a bit of extra lift. If I have one shoe on and one off, my foot without the shoe is slightly raised off the ground. The bottom soles give decent stability and have a little grip to them which is helpful for pavement or other smooth surfaces. The soles also provide a slight easy roll towards the toes to help keep up with the forward momentum of running or walking. I havent found anything in particular that I really dont like about these shoes other than a cosmetic issue. This might actually just be a petty quality control issue but I feel like its quite noticeable in some areas of the shoe where it seems to have some extra glue around the soles and around some of the decal designs on the sides. It might just be really noticeable because of the dark color of the fabric but from such a high quality shoe, I would usually expect to not see that. I only hope it doesnt cause any future issues with separation after exposing the shoes to the elements during wear since theyre supposed to be water resistant. With that being said, I havent even mentioned yet but these shoes incorporate the gore-Tex technology to provide resistance to water. I havent been through any wet conditions yet with them but its an excellent feature! Now that I have had the opportunity to actually wear these around for a bit, I absolutely love how lightweight they are and they have proven to be quite comfortable for longer periods of wear. Even though the laces have a smooth feeling fabric, I have not had any problems with keeping them tied or felt like I needed to re-tie or adjust them after wearing for a bit. I have also decided that these shoes look MUCH better when Im wearing them in comparison to my first impressions of them sitting in the box. Just based on the lightweight comfort and functionality, these shoes have now become my first choice to wear and would highly recommend them!

I feel like these run a little small and I would've preferred a wide so they won't be my go to in the current size. If you like a classic black shoe these are a stylish one with some grey speckles on the side. I think they're super light and the heel is cushy. Laces are perfect length and the shoe is breathable.

While these shoes are perfectly fine for walking, for me they were not the most comfortable running shoes. I got my normal size and the shoes felt narrow and my feet felt constricted while wearing them. I have a high arch and it felt tight at the top of my feet. Additionally, they lacked the cushioning and support I expected. On the positive side, the shoes are lightweight and the fabric is breathable, making it ideal during hot weather. While I like the design of the shoe, I wasnt a fan of the all black color. The color reminded me of service industry shoes and its not a shoe I would wear outside of running.

The Ghost 16 GTX is a pair of exceptional running shoes that has exceeded my expectations. Its superior cushioning and support have significantly reduced my running fatigue. The shoe's breathable mesh upper provides excellent ventilation, keeping my feet cool and dry. The GTX model's waterproofing has been a game-changer for running in wet conditions. Overall, the Ghost 16 GTX is a top-notch choice for serious runners. It's a must-have for anyone seeking a high-performance shoe. I'm thoroughly impressed and will continue to trust Brooks for my running needs!

These shoes are like walking in clouds. They are so comfortable! I feel like they give a lot of cushion.
My feet are so comfortable during my runs. Like I said I really enjoy the cushion and spring like feeling when running. I dont have many complaints. The style is slight boring so I look forward to seeing some more fun designs.
