I needed a sneaker with lots of cushion. I tore my meniscus 6+ months ago and I've be rehabbing without surgery. Walking with a sneaker with a lot of cushion helps when I'm going for my walks on pavement. Ghost Max 2 are my go to sneaker now. I bought a pair in black after I experienced the Ghost Max in a lighter color which I wore all summer. Also the customer service at Brooks can't be beat. If you're unsure, send them an email and they will get back to you pronto! I've been wearing Brooks for about 20 years now and they keep getting better.

I love this shoe! I am not a runner but I am a dedicated walker (about 25 miles per week) who is approaching age 70. I had tried the first Ghost Max version and, although they felt very comfortable they made me feel unstable and I cannot risk a fall at my age. This is not the case with the Ghost Max II. I have dropped metatarsals and this shoe offers plenty of cushioning. I also have a very wide forefoot with bunions and the EE width in this shoe is just wide enough for me. The toe box could be a little deeper as it is not quite as deep as the Ghost 16 but I'm not having any problems with it. I wish the size 9 EE width were available in more colors. The plain black almost resembles a man's shoe in the larger sizes and the Coconut color I purchased seems to make my feet look even larger than they are. If you are an older walker who passed up the original Ghost Max because of feeling unstable, give the Ghost Max II a try, especially if you have wide problem feet!

I upgraded from Ghost to Ghost Max last year for basketball officiating and the smooth ride was instantly noticeable. I bought Ghost Max 2 this year to officiate volleyball knowing they would have great cushioning, at nearly 70 years old that's a big need for me.

Ghost Max 2 is my first Brooks shoe, so I didn't know what to expect. I do not run, but I do intentional walking everyday. I have extra wide feet with a narrow heel, and the extra wide GM2 fits almost perfect, without much heel slippage. They feel cushiony, but supportive at the same time. At first the rocker bottom felt weird, but within a few minutes I barely noticed it. The shoes are fairly lightweight. I have painful knees and not able to wear shoes with 12mm heel to toe drop, but the 6mm drop of the GM2 works well. So far, I think the Ghost Max 2 is the best shoe I've tried out. I believe I will be keeping them. I do recommend that others try it as well.

I am new to Brooks. After heeding several recommendations from people I know and reading many reviews on the different styles, I ended up going to my local Dick's to try some on. It was a hard call, but I decided to go with the Ghost Max 2 and am wearing them around the house now. I am so pleased with their design and the way they move my step forward when I walk. I also like their stability as I am coming off an extremely painful injury to my outer knee. These shoes will be used for daily outdoor walking on hard surfaces.

The Ghost Max 2 has plenty of cushioning and looks super stylish! I've worn Brooks Ghost consistently throughout the years and thought I couldn't find a better shoe. The Ghost Max 2 has me even MORE satisfied and comfortable!

Super comfortable shoes. i just ran my first 21k with them and it was a great experience. You can feel the cushioning and the support. I have a hip injury and ended with no pain. In wet conditions they can feel a little heavier.

I am very impressed again with this shoe! The fit is perfect (for my wide foot) and the shoe is responsive and supportive without stiffness. Even with the substantial cushioning, I am able to adeptly respond to roots, cracks in the pavement etc. Great for high mileage (I'm at about 45 miles per week) - and general use!

Just started wearing these and so far I'm loving them. They have nice cushioning but I'm not sure how well it will hold up.

I'm on my feet 12 hours a day running around or standing long periods of time on hospital floors. These don't make my feet feel like they've been at work 12 hours! Love them!

These are the best version of the Ghost so far! I work 12 hour shifts and I've bought many shoes but this pair keeps me on my toes!

It's very comfortable. It changed my life. I used to have pain on the sides of my foot, but now that I discovered I needed and extra wide shoes. I really loved it. No more pain. Plus the cushion was great! I'll buy more in the future.

I've been looking to replace my running shoes that I absolutely have loved! I'm overdue for a replacement but my current brand changed their design and it doesn't work for my feet. I've tried MANY options and the Ghost Max 2 is the WINNER!! For me, it fits true to size (7.5). Ample toe box for my neuropathic toes, Great cushioning,even though it's more than I'm accustomed to wearing. Also really appreciate design of the tongue and padded area around the ankle and Achilles. I'm thinking of purchasing a second pair for backup:)

I'm a walker and love the extra cushioning for my ankles in the Ghost Max 2's.

Comfy, like the new colors. Same fit as expected.

Very cushioned but doesn't feel heavy on my feet. Love as a runner coming back from a stress fracture for extra cushion. Will be my long run shoes

I am not a runner. I use them for distant walking, and hiking. The Cush, arch support and roomy toe bed are ideal for me. I do order wide, and add my orthotics to counter fasciitis and bunions! These work well for my crazy feet. They are not water proof. So not ideal for weather conditions. But an excellent shoe.

I love the whole line of of ghost shoes and have been wearing them a long time. The new Ghost Max 2 is cushiony and comfy. I wish it came in more colors though. To be honest, I only walk in them so I can't speak to how they would be for a running shoe. They are wonderful for walking. Actually my daughter in law runs in them and she raves about them. I've been wearing Brooks since the 70s when I did run and my first pair were Brooks Villanovas in blue and red.

This is my first pair of Ghost Max. I'm a regular ghost person normally, but was encouraged to try them for work. I work in a hospital and am on my feet most of the day. Let's just say they were great! Even wore them for my daily walk ( sorry not a runner) and was impressed. I seemed to bounce forward and my walking pace was increased. I did return them for a half size bigger. My normal size seemed a little short. The bigger size was just right. I recommend for those on their feet all day and for the non-runner.

It's super comfortable for the 8 hour shifts.
