I liked boots but they barely lasted a year. My shoe lace is coming apart and the the glue for front of midsole where toe connects is coming apart so not very great now. for the price see can't justify that. were great till they weren't.

Generally speaking I love Hoka shoes/boots, but they really need to to have wides available on all or most of their models. Since they don't it forces me to research and often use other brands.

No cushion in the heal. I wanted 10 wide but not available. My mistake. I thought I would try anyway. I had a pair of sneakers, I think something nine. Wasn't long and the tread tore off. I should've tried to return them. I got a pair of Hola Clifton's that I don't like. I am pretty sure I'm done with Hoke. Found another brand that has been excellent and cost less.

The sole of the boot has changed and squeaked constantly.

I am moving to a location which gets moderate amounts of snow each year. Although seldom bitterly cold, the winter weather features a lot of consistent cold and frequent sleet and icy rain. Plus, my feet are always cold. When I read about how this shoe was built for warmth and comfort, particularly following a great experience with a couple of other pairs of Hokas, I thought this was a sure win. I was wrong. I was expecting the fit to be like my others, with plush cushioning and a comfortable H to T drop. Instead, it wears like a brick. It is uncomfortable and seems to have virtually no cushioning. I will say that my feet don't get cold when I wear them, so there's that. I am really disappointed. I spent a lot of money on these shoes and they certainly have over-promised and under-delivered. I didn't return them, as they do keep my feet warm, but they are a constant reminder that Hoka can and occasionally does get the concept and execution wrong. I'm really disappointed.

I had very high hopes for this model, especially for Chicago winters, but with the left shoe, when you step, it feels like the outer portion is slightly higher than the inner, which is completely weird and uncomfortable. I thought the issue was with my foot, so I asked another person with the same size to try it. They felt the exact same thing. I thought, "Okay," and ordered another pair but it had the exact same issue.
I do own another pair of Hoka Transport Hike GTX, and I like them, but as someone who has foot pain, I would definitely not recommend this shoe.

Hoka has very few wide options, they make shoes like this narrow. The tiny number of wides don't get the color options. And shoes with special features like waterproofing are almost never in wide.

These are not 400g insulated boots as the Hoka product description implies. They're 200g insulated boots. Whoever wrote the product description doesn't understand that 200g and 400g insulation is a description of insulation thickness not insulation weight. Then there's the issue of traction aid compatibility. The toe box collapses under an elastomer harness (microspikes, trail crampons) causing cold toes and blistering. These boots are also incompatible with K10s, Hillsound Trail crampon Pros, or Grivel Crampons with flex bar crampons because the sole is too long and wide to fit into the binding. I suggest you hire a product manager well versed in winter hiking for the next iteration. I could be available (used to be a VP of Product Management)
