Finally a running shoe that is wide enough! Its a bit clunky looking but I needed a replacement for the discontinued fresh foam more V3 trail shoe - the new versions of that shoe run narrower

The shoe has a nice design however the quality control is poor lots of money for a shoe that is average

I like the concept of the shoe, wide platform and low stack height (5mm). Purchased as an alternative to to the Hoka Bondi 9 as the Hoka has squishy feel. However, there's something about this shoe that makes walking in it unstable. It's not balance right, and the lock down needs improvement. Also, no way this should be a $200 shoe.

Our son has a very wide foot. Over the years, we have purchased about 6 pairs of 1540V3 which were wide enough to be comfortable on him. However, the 1540V4 is much narrower than the 1540V3. The 1540V4 is so narrow that he can't wear it.

First, NB made a good decision to make this shoe with a 4mm drop, so you don't feel like you're going to fall forward. Second, they made a good decision to keep the stability roll bars, which are now rubber instead of plastic (I prefer the plastic). The shoe platform is balanced, is firm under foot, and could be great for a walker or runner, very similar to a Hoka shoe. All if that is for nothing. The shoe in medium width (there is no narrow) is a BOAT! You'd have to have an arch that is five inches high in order to lock down the upper and mid-foot over the flimsy material . I laced to last eyelet, which btw, took me about five minutes, as the holes are not lined up, so you have to navigate through the material to find the hole opening, hoping you don't bend the shoe lace tip. Still no lock down. If you have super wide feet AND a five inch high arch, it may work for you, but you'll probably tear through toes and rip out the eyelets in few weeks. Not good for made in the US of A. To NB: completely redesign the upper and use sturdier material and take another shot.

The uppers on this shoe are not long enough to cover the tongue of the shoe once my foot is in the shoe. Very disappointing. Back to the 990v6 model.

If you liked the 1540V2 and 1540V3 you will HATE this shoe. It is awful with no support, too soft sole and all around odd design.

Fit and size weren't bad, BUT...the front of the sneaker is arched very 'aggressively' so you feel like you're falling forward and it causes you to use your back more. Not good for anyone with a lower back issue or for the average person. I could see trying to run and falling. I';m a New Balance fan, this just has a terrible toe sole 'angle'.

These sneakers did not appear new. They smelled musty, appear to have been worn, and did not come with laces? So bizarre, I'm returning them.
