The TNF Terra Peak jacket is great for staying warm. The material feels nice and sturdy, so I feel like it'll hold up well. That said, there are a couple of things that I don't like. It doesn't have a cord at the bottom to tighten it up, so wind can sneak in sometimes. Also, without the cord, it makes the jacket look pretty boxy, which can make you look kind of bulky and square.

The TNF Terra Peak jacket is honestly one of the coziest jackets I own, and it's great for staying warm. Still, for comfort and warmth, it's awesomejust not the most flattering shape.

I've been waiting for a replacement for my original North Face winter jacket. All the options available before this were slim fit only, until this garment became available. It's comfortable, warm, and fits great. Looking forward to wearing it for many winter seasons to come.

I haven't had a chance to use this in the winter, so take this review with a grain of salt, but I noticed that nobody had reviewed yet so I figured I'd weigh in with some initial impressions in case other people were on the fence like I was.
I think the risk you run buying TNF gear online is that you might accidentally wind up with something geared more towards the instagram crowd instead of something that will actually work in the outdoors. Fortunately this piece seems to be the latter. It's thicker than it appears in the images, and seems well-built. Definitely more of a mid-weight than a mini-puff, and the underarm things do seem to help with movement. It does kind of puff up around the belly area, but I feel like most jackets of this weight will do that.
It's light-ish, and it does fit into the chest pocket as advertised. As stated earlier it is a bit thicker than it appears in the images, and when I tried it on under my not-very-baggy jacket that I've been using as a shell the whole thing looked and felt kind of tight. That said, if you have a roomier shell I think this would be a pretty sweet mid-layer if it's legitimately cold out.
I'll update this winter if I remember.
