My review is not the fault of the shoe but my leg and knee. Six months ago I had a knee replacement. I bought my usual size in an athletic shoe, 10W. The shoes felt a little big but they were comfortable as I walked in them in my home. I have Morton's toe & bunions so I need the extra toe room & width for my toes and bunions. So when I went on my 2 mile walk, the shoes felt fine although not so "springy" as I expected. After a mile I became concerned that I might not make it home! I felt like the shoes were made of cement, they felt heavy and hard, and my leg, not the knee began to hurt. I was dismayed! I now know that I need a foam type of athletic shoe if I expect to walk for exercise. Thank you Zappos for the free returns. And someone at Goodwill will be getting newish athletic shoes.

The shoe fit, but it was not well made. The tongue is very short; there’s hardly anything to grab onto when you’re pulling it taut. The holes for the laces are not reinforced. There was not enough spring in the sole.
