My son found these very comfortable, but they are not durable or worth the money. 2 weeks in, the front sole started to peel from the shoe. Then a few more weeks and the lace broke on one shoe. After further inspection, the other lace was wearing. This is just regular wear for school- no extensive sports training or trail hiking so it's disappointing that these do not keep up with the name. I'm pending a warranty claim and hope this was just a fluke and North Face can make it right.
Disappointed,

Bought these because the Velcro on a different brand kept failing after a very short time. So far these are excellent and no more Velcro for us!

I wear these currently for clinical rotations and I love them so much! They're probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and I love how they're very breathable.

I have been waiting for The North Face to come out with more youth shoes and the youth Alta Mesa's do not disappoint. My kids really like the draw string lace up mechanism and the loop to keep it in place. Because they have a little more traction on the bottom, I don't have to worry about them running around on the grass or the gravel on recess.

I ordered big kids 4, should around 8.75 inches based on your chart. What I received IS size 4, but it is size 4 of EU size 36, or 10 inches.
