I bought the yellow and the multicolor stripe. They are both cute and the colors are great. They do shrink, even when washed in cold and dried on low. I generally prefer petite sizes b/c I have short arms and am only. 5'4". I got regular in these and they have shrunk to what I would consider petite sizing, both in the arm length and in the overall length--which works great for me, but wouldn't work if you are tall or have long arms. Also, b/c of the shrinkage, if you want to be able to wear this over a t-shirt, size up. After washing, the small fits me fine if I wear it as a standalone shirt, but is a little smaller than is comfortable when I put a tshirt under it. So I'd recommend it, but with reservations. (LLBean, I have been having a lot of problems with all of your cotton shirts shrinking--I wish you would start preshrinking your cotton items so that the fit is more reliable. Plus it's a bummer to always have to dry on low if you want to keep any length in the shirt.)

I liked the look and color of the pullover but after a couple washings the shrinkage was quite noticeable, particularly in the circumference of the arms which are now almost to the point of being uncomfortably tight. As a few others have noted, the fabric tends to look a bit wrinkled all the time.

Nice looking, but it always looks as if the material needs pressing, very wrinkled look

I washed it before wearing and though I knew it was 100% Cotten/ it shrunk at least by 40 percent. I bought a size large knowing it would shrink but was still surprised as to how much it shrunk
I would size up when buying

Stripes not continuing around the garment make it look defective. That was not obvious from the photos. Returned.

I ordered my usual size, XS, and it was very large on me. Description said it was semi fitted. The length was tunic length on me. The color was beautiful but I think the brass zipper was too heavy for the material. I returned it.

The light blue and stripes make a nice color combo. But the construction of the shirt feels stingy. The fabric is thinner than I expected - would not qualify as an actual sweatshirt. The sleeves have no cuffs - just a t-shirt like hem. The zipper is too rough and bulky for the weight of the shirt. What's up with the sides? Was there not enough fabric to just sew together two pieces? I don't know what that's called, but it just makes the shirt seem cheaper.

I wonder why Bean asks for reviews of returned merchandise.
This is an attractive top. It is in line with the description.
I returned it because it is too large, and too boxy.
I also felt that the stripes were too loud for me.

Getting closer to the original rugby shirt - still a little lighter in fabric than I would like/

Shirt will be great for fall, but disappointed with stitching of the dark trim at the neckline. It shows then the collar is open. Will wear it around the house.

I returned this 1/4 zip top without even trying it on. When I saw how heavy this metal zipper was, I knew it would bother my skin without a layer underneath. I have this in the full- zip, which works with another layer. 3 stars for nice material.

Really like the color and fabric but the sleeves by the lower arm are too narrow. There is no "slack" to be able to push them up. It also feels like the top has shrunk.

Two things: the sleeves are too short but the body is okay in length. Looks odd but I didn't send it back
Also the fabric isn't cozy sweatshirt, it is stiff and it has a a wrinkly appearance. On the plus the color is good, stitching good, nice zipper, washes well. Maybe it will get softer.

I couldn't wait to get this top in white with the pastel stripes because it looked so much like spring. I received it today and was disappointed because of the zipper. A beautiful spring top doesn't need a dark metal zipperit "detracts" from the beauty of the garment. This should be a five star top, but I took one star off for the ugly zipper and another star because it was all cotton. A combination of 50 poly/50 cottonwould be a much better choice and would give the top a longer lifespan. My opinion, but for the price, the top needs to go back to the drawing board!

I tried both the large and medium petite sizes in store, but I was not happy with either fit. The medium was more flattering for my figure, but the arms were too tight. And with the large, I had the opposite problem. Perfect in the arms, too baggy in the torso.

Love LL Bean clothes I want to buy quality that will last and have them to fit well! Most men's clothes offer size Tall tops for men. It's rare for women's tops to be offered in Tall. Cotton knits can, and usually do get shorter with each washing, Clothing seldom shrinks IN (not around) in width. Women's pants are often offered in Tall, but seldom Tall tops for women. We are mostly offed Petite, Reg. or Plus. Some of us are long waisted. Clothing companies don't seem to realize this about women's sizing even after all these years! We're offered Petite, Reg. or Plus. Hardly ever offered Tall in tops for women. I truly don't understand why not?

A little disappointed in the material. I think it looks a little cheap. I like the color so I kept it.

This top is okay, but not the quality of a few years ago. The fabric is a bit rough, and the collar is huge.

Nicer looking in catalog than in person cut small, and even sleeves are snug. Material thin and kind of skimpy. I'd pass on buying one of these shirts.

I purchased a regular small and had to return it for an extra small. I usually wear petite medium but wanted a longer top. The extra smaii is perfect. I love the top great quality! I am 5'1 and weigh112!

Love the colors of this shirt, but the fabric is VERY light, more like a t-shirt. Washed according to directions, but it shrank somewhat anyway. The metal zipper is too heavy for the light material.

This is a lovely and well-made pullover. My only caveat is that there is NO stretch to the top. The cuffs are non-stretch so you can't push up your sleeves. I love the color and fit otherwise. Please - put some stretch into your 'knit' tops.

This shirt runs small compared to my LLBean rugby shirts. I am returning mine. I liked the shirt and wish it was bigger. I got an XL.

Material is very thin for the price paid for this shirt. Thought it would be more like a rugby shirt material. Instead, it is almost like a slub knit.
Disappointed,
