My daughter has been wearing them for the past couple of weeks. No complaints! I would buy them again.

I own 4 pairs of the tie version trail model hikers (2 insulated and 2 not insulated) and one pair of the low heighth trail model. I was pleased to see the velcro model since I have arthritis and tying is difficult. I am a woman in my mid 70s but wear between a 2 and 2.5 children's shoe. All my previous hikers are a size 4 except for one that is size 3. Since the reviews said this was true to size I ordered a size 3. They just fit with regular socks. I am sending them back to get a size 4 since I want to wear hiking socks and an innersole since there is no arch support. As another reviewer mentioned, these are not made as well and as comfortable as the former models. I started buying these hikers 7 years ago and the structure and materials are better on all my previous pairs. These are not made for rugged hikes. They are too light. However, I will use them for winter walking when it is cold and difficult to lace my other boots or in the summer for trail hiking. I am so please to find a somewhat more rugged shoe with velcro. I have children's Hoka trail shoes with speed laces but wanted these boots for wet and messy conditions. In summary: These boots work well for women with small feet. I wear a size 4 in women's shoes. (They are as difficult to find as a unicorn.) Adults who wear a size 5 or 6 shoe can wear the size 6 or 7 Children's hikers.

We bought these for my son in November, (4months ago). He’s worn them every day and is very active. They are still in great condition and completely waterproof. They offer excellent support. They were perfect for puddles, snow, mud, and still wearing them all day at school.

we bought this pair in the store, my kid has had them for about a month and absolutely love them. They are waterproof easy to put on because of the Velcro and extremely comfortable another A+ L.L. Bean purchase.

My wife was having trouble keeping her shoestrings tied (no fault of her own) and these solved the problem nicely. She is very petite at 4' 8" and a child's size 3 shoe. She is very happy with both pairs of these hikers that we've purchased from LL Bean.

These run a size small. I normally wear children's size 2.5 in footwear. In the four pair of the lace versions I bought several years ago, I had to get size 3 because there are no 1/2 sizes. I added an innersole to snug up the boots. In this lace free, Velcro version, I had to get a size 4 because the size 3 just fit with no wiggle room. I then added an innersole to the size 4 boot. In comparison, I always wear a size 4 in ladies shoes. (Finding a 4 is as rare as seeing a real unicorn.) In most all children's shoes I wear a 2.5. The boots fit my requirement of being easy to snug up and easy to put on with arthritic fingers. They are not quite as well made as the past versions, with the laces, that I got several years ago. These are lighter, have less cushioning, and a flat sole. The stiffness should lessen as I wear them and the addition of the innersole will give more structure. Children will probably not mind them. Most children's shoes sold in the U.S. are not well made. These boots are a better value than the cheap knock-offs at big box and discount stores. My four pairs from between 4 and 8 years ago are still looking good and they have gotten heavy use. I got this model in the olive color so they look more adult-like and stylish. I like the Trail Model Boots for trail hiking, working in the yard, and long walks on pavement. I use the insulated pairs in snow and cold weather and the uninsulated pairs in the three warmer seasons. They shed water in the rain so that is a plus. This Velcro model is not insulated but warm enough for temperatures above freezing.

Awesome! Just what I was looking for. My son is in an all-day nature program so I needed a shoe like this - and the velcro straps instead of laces is an excellent feature!! He also benefits from a higher cut shoe anyway to provide more support for his ankles. They are strong and give him that support!

We hike weekly with our 4yo and his friends. They play in puddles, mud and climb anything available. He usually ends up barefoot however these are so comfortable for him that he's left them on! Easy to wash off.,

I bought these for my son 10/18/25, received them 10/24. Around 12/5, not even a month and a half later, I noticed the front part of the sole that's glued to the toe box coming unglued. I message LLBean using their own site's email page around 12/10 to let them know, asking about next steps, and how to proceed about a return for refund (since the shoes are obviously used I didn't know if the same return process applies) and didn't get a response. Not even an automated email back letting me know they got the message. NOTHING. What kind of company is this, that makes products of such low quality and then simply ignores its customers when a problem comes up?
The issue with the sole coming unglued happened even after I noticed my child's feet GETTING WET in these "waterproof" shoes. I was willing to overlook that issue, and was having him wear them only on dry days (very hard to do when you live in the Pacific NW). That means he only wore them maybe 3/4 of the days out of 40, being generous, OR 30 DAYS we owned the shoes.
That is $3 PER DAY for the "privilege" of wearing LL Ban shoes!!!
I don't think so.
This was my first ever purchase and will for sure be my last as well.
