I have long wanted a Henley shirt - but for unknown reasons, never owned one. Finally, all the 'stars' aligned and I purchased two actually. I bought a cream colored one as well as a green one. They fit perfectly and have satisfied my reasons for purchasing them. They are both good looking long sleeve casual shirts to be worn in informal outings. If I were to have a disappointment with them, and it's a very minor disappointment, it is that the material is thinner than I imagined it would be. This was particularly obvious during the recent severe temperatures experienced here in Virginia and indeed across most of the country. I remain very happy to have both in my wardrobe.

I like the feel of these Tee's. Colors stay true after washing. They run a little large. According to your size chart, I am on the lower end of mediums. I ordered the medium thinking they might shrink a little. They did not. A small would have been a better choice.

I like the shirt. It's cut full enough that you can order your true size (as a large I didn't need an xl). What I find odd is differences based on color. I got one in black, the other in blue heather. The two shirts have a diff nap, or feel. I find the black softer and more comfortable.

I've bought tons of these Henleys over the years, They wear great, hold color. I do have to ding two stars for lack of color selection. Seems the white has been removed recently and Olive drab was removed years ago. If the black goes away I'm going to have to find another daily wear shirt.

Washed in cold water and low dryer as I normally wash all clothes. It did shrink. Not dramatically and the fabric is still in good condition so will keep it, but now has a slim fit. We have had bad luck recently with LL bean :(

The arms are too big. Less fabric would improve the look.

There once was a time that L.L. Bean, in the 1990's, when the Long Sleeve Henley collar was 1-inch wide, instead of the current 3/4-inch collar.
Here's the difference shown in both photos. The difference with an extra 1/4-inch added to the 1-inch collar is HUGE. And here's why: The one-inch wide collar stands-up on your neck. It's warmer. In the cold, most body heat is lost at the neck and midriff. The one-inch collar doesn't sag like the current 3/4-inch collar width.
Look at both photos. Which looks better with the vest? I have one ragged Bean, Long Sleeve Henley left in my collection. I'm wearing it in this photo.
I have (3) 3/4" Long Sleeve Bean Henleys. Bean's short-sleeve Henley's from the 1990's also has a 1-inch width collar (grey one in photo). The dark blue long sleeve? It's stays in my shirt closet unworn, because it droops at the neck after a few hours wear.
Another BIG difference is this: I always bought a size Large in the 1-inch Henley. I wear a size Medium in all of my other Bean shirts. The L.L. Bean Long Sleeve Henley's run small. A Medium washed and dried Long Sleeve Henley is always too tight.
A Large 1990's 1-inch Henley hangs loose in the shoulders and body, but the 1-inch neck stays tight. (the faded one under the vest).
When, if, the 1-inch neck L.Sleeve Henely's return, as they should, I'll buy (6).
Until then they've lost me as a Henley customer.

Recommend bringing back the Polo long sleeve with the banded bottom.

I've purchased several of these shirts and really like them overall. However, they stain extremely easily, and I haven't been able to remove the stains no matter what I try.

The sizing is way off. It fits more like an XXL - looks like a night shirt on my husband who is 6'2". Like the shirt other than that.

In an unusual occurrence, LL Bean sent me the wrong item. I have dealt with LL Bean for nearly 60 years, and love their quality and service.
No big deal, and I remain a faithful customer

My husband wears an XL but this shirt is too big, now have to go to the hassle of returning it. Cost $8.00 shipping originally, now $6.50 more to return.so much for a sale!!
