Purchased to be more substantial than just running shoes, but a bit lighter than my Merrill hiking shoes. They fit that bill exactly.

For decades I've been wearing Merrills, but they required a fairly long break in and are heavy. I'm still recovering from a recent knee replacement and thought it would be nice to have a hiking/waling shoe that was lighter with more cushioning. I decided to try these fully expecting to have to send them back. What a pleasant surprise it was to find these fit perfectly and were just what I was looking for.

Slip-in styles don't seem to provide the secure feeling that a lace-up gives the foot. If you walk a lot these might work for you. Others have commented on the "slippery" laces that won't stay tied. They are a bit "slippery", but if knotted tightly, I've had no problems. The one surprise to me was the aggressive "cleats" in the sole. They don't seem to be a problem for ordinary casual wear or walking, and I'll look forward to trying them out on some light hiking in the future when they will give more grip than a standard "walker" sole.

I use the shoes for everything. I wear them to work, play and around the house. They are practical for everyday use and stylish enough for special occasions. I would definitely recommend them for everyone.

I like that they don't draw attention to my feet as sparkling new shoes. I hope they hold up better than the last pair of sketchers I bought. The front sole peeled away on the front

I really like skecher shoes, but recently ( last 3 pair) the fit has been inconsistent. From too short by 1/2 - 1 size and too wide in the heel with the slip on shoes. Sad.
