Florsheim Imperial, the classic long wing tip, is the epitome of American shoe design. Unfortunately, it is no longer made here. I thought there will be a substantial drop in the quality now that it is made in India. My friend has same Kenmoor shoes from the late 1980s, and surprisingly, I did not see much difference (but not the same) in the quality.
Of course, now that they cut the leather using computer design, it shouldn't matter where they make it as long as the quality of the leather is good. So I'm glad this was not made using some cheap leather in China.
I like the "shoe design last," not pointy and rounded perfectly, of course never a square-toed. It may take a while for some to break-in but it does not hurt. It does take time to adjust your walking while you wear them as they are heavy, built like M1AI Tanks. Over time, the leather will become supple.
Always use a shoe tree, clean & polish periodically and store them in the shoe bag that comes with the shoe. With proper care, these will last 15-20 years.
I wish that Florsheim made these in Shell Cordovan as they used to 25 years ago.

As a long time Allen Edmonds customer I was in the market for a new pair of black longwings but not too excited about the prospect of dropping nearly four bills. After some comparative shopping and reading the many positive reviews of the Kenmoor's, I decided to take the Internet plunge without trying these shoes on first as I could not find a pair locally. At half the AE price I figured it was worth the risk. The ground shipping was fast so I was anxious to slip on my prize once they arrived. Ouch. The arch support pressed high and they were about as forgiving as a pair of 2x4's strapped to my feet. I thought I had made a mistake in purchasing these shoes sight unseen but I persevered. The first morning wearing them to the office was an endurance test, my will against the shoes, but each day they got a bit more comfortable as they slowly began to conform to my feet. The break in period can take a week or two but they are beginning to feel like old friends. The gunboat look of the shoes fits me to a T, conservative yet stylish. Construction is solid. If they hold up like my AE's (which have worn like tanks over the past 10 years and are still going strong) then Florsheim gets all my dress shoe business. I did swap out the cheap cotton laces for a nice waxed pair. It also would be nice to have a shoe horn included in the box but for the $$ I saved over the AE's I can't quibble too much. Lastly, Florsheim's customer service is excellent. I had a few questions for them during the break in period and they were willing to go the extra mile. So far I'm very pleased.

This is the fourth pair that I have owned. I still have two pair that I have had resoled numerous times. I have owned these shoes for over 20 years!! The Kenmoor is the best shoe on the market for the money.

Always the best fit after the first half-soling, when it has molded to your foot.
Disappointed that the internet did not ship with a shoe horn like the stores always include.

More brown than burgundy but very comfortable and great arch support. Half the price of my Allen Edmunds and much better quality.

This is the best dress shoe ever. I have it in Black, Burgundy and brown. That's all I've worn since 1990.

Breaks in fairly easy; wear around house a couple of times and there should't be a blister problems

I have been wearing these shoes for over thirty years. I love them. They are expensive but last three times as long as other shoes.

Beautiful classic shoes. Bought them for my son for Christmas. He was thrilled with the quality and comfort. As always, the Zappos purchase as a gift was safe due to their excellent customer service on returns. Happily, no returns needed!

These shoes are VERY comfortable right out of the box. And then, they only get better. The quality and craftsmanship are outstanding... I would recommend these shoes to anyone looking for quality and comfort. They are well worth the price!!!

Beautiful styling. I purchased my half size smaller so it's true they run a bit large. The shoes are very stiff yet very comfortable. For sure they will take a while to tame these puppies. Go get yourself a pair.

I am an airline pilot. I need a dependable, solid, and comfortable shoe I can wear for up to sixteen hours. I have been wearing this same Imperial wing tip for thirty years. There is nothing better. Invest in your feet.

Love these shoes. Wear them almost every day and if they are like the previous pairs they will probably last 10 years. (and they are only too stiff for the first half of that time ;)

I have worn this shoe since I was in High School. That was 45 years ago and I still think the style, comfort, and durability is as good as it was then. The last pair I had lasted 6 years of almost daily wear with a suit and tie style. I replaced the soles and heels three times and the uppers looked as good as when they were new. I hope these wear just as well. - Thanks

I like the burgundy color and the smooth finish. The quality is exquisite right down to the soft cloth bags to keep them safe during tranport. The sole is a little slick on some surfaces (tile with any dampness). I'd highly recommend them, though.

This is my third pair. If you want the best, Florsheim is the your best bet. You get what you pay for.
