These shoes feel like they have a negative heel drop, like Earth Shoes. Nothing in the descriptions on either Zappos or the Taos websites list this feature, so it seemed important to mention it. The style is nice, albeit a tad clunky like Birkenstocks. The shoes have a lot of toe room in both width and height--this was the main reason I bought them because I have duck feet, and on the wide toe box score they did not disappoint. The foot bed is soft on top with firm cork underneath, but I didn't feel they were especially great on arch support. The footbeds are fully integrated, so there is no way to insert custom arch supports. Having two adjustable straps (top and back) is very good, adding a bit of extra assurance that the shoes will stay on (as opposed to clogs without back straps). However, for as much as these shoes have in their favor, the negative heel drop is a no-go for me, so I will be returning them.

A great shoe for problem feet affected by a bunion, osteoarthritis, Morton’s Neuromas and flat feet. These shoes have a wide toe bed which is exactly what my feet need at this time. I have ordered wide shoes in other brands and find them to be too large in the heel and mid foot. This shoe is comfortable when wearing and has the perfect fit for my bunion. Zappo is the best as I have ordered over 35 shoes to accommodate my changing feet and this is the first shoe I have kept other than a few pair of tennis shoes in the last few months. Zappo is the best with their prompt deliveries and easy returns as I would be shoeless without them. They have been my go to company for years.

I love these shoes. the footbed feels magical to my feet, squishy and firm at the same time. Sorry I have to return them because they are too wide and are visibly loose at the top.

Finally it's Cool enough to start wearing! Not sure that this style is still being sold (or maybe will be "Revised" for Next Season). They are GREAT! Needed a lower heel (or Wedge) for the few times I wear a dress or suit & need to look nice. Needed something dressier than my Vionic Amber sandals. This shoe fits similar to my other pairs of Taos: EXCEPT there is extra room above my foot (area between beginning of toes and Instep). When shoe arrives I thought I would have to "Fill in" that gap with a felt pad....but: With a little fiddling with heel and strap over arch - got the "right fit". FYI - IF you have the 2 straps too snug - the foot does NOT have enough room to move when you walk (as this is sort of a "Clog type" construction). I really hope Taos brings this shoe back as some styles "disappear" and DO come back. My feet: WIDE toes, narrow heels, "Bony" or thin feet, Bunionette and Morton's Neuroma. Hope this helps other people with hard to fit feet :)

Fit was large and heavy. Beautiful leather. Too bulky for me, but looks very nice on the foot. Strap could be much slimmer. Very well made and sturdy shoe.
