As a lifelong Vans Authentic wearer, I can say that the Tradewinds have a similar look but are lighter and way more comfortable. Since I wear them barefoot, I noticed how soft the liner was but I would recommend going down a half size. I typically wear a 9 and got an 8.5 in these and it was perfect. Solid spring/summer shoe!

I thought that was a lot of money for canvas runners until I saw them and tried them on,the craftsmanship and fit and comfort are superior but that is what I expected from olakai (I have two pair of their flip flops and one pair of their runners). I only gave them 4 stars because I bought them for a Cuban vacation that I have yet to go on..
