These are okay. This is my second pair of vegan Papillio slide sandals by Birkenstock. My first pair, Arizona Chunky in Pure Sage, took almost two months to "break in," so I was ready to accept that these Arizona Platforms (in Mocha) would also initially feel uncomfortable and stiff. However, I did not expect them to give me blisters under my arches (and I was wearing socks!). I ordered my usual Euro size 42, and the length and width were perfect, but the molded cork bed was somehow harder and more lumpy than before. Truth be told, I wasn't necessarily thrilled with my first pair of Papillios, but I did appreciate that, as platforms, they were lightweight and stable, and they eventually became more comfortable to wear over time. Why a second pair now? Being vegan, these sandals are much more water-resistant to puddles than my Helen sandals by Mephisto ever were—and cloudburst showers are the summertime norm down here in Houston—and hurricane season doesn't end for another 16 weeks. Cute, well-made, and I know they'll be worth it... Eventually (lol!).
