The leather by the larger buckle rubbed on my toes as I think the straps are just a bit wider to accomodate the larger buckle. My toes got used to it because I LOVE to look and comfort of these Birkenstocks!!

They are stiffer than other Birks I've worn, but that speaks to quality, I think. They should last longer. They look great, but won't walk through a metal detector!

I have been a fan of Birkenstocks for a long time- so this big buckle style is a great addition to my collection. The oiled leather was a little stiff at first but has softened and now feels great--I wore them in the house 3-4 days to speed up the softening. The larger buckle looks great for the Fall--especially with jeans- adds a bit of a "cooler weather" look with the added hardware! I have them in black and wear them almost everyday- they fit like all Birkenstocks-so once you find your size--go for it!

I own about 50 Birkenstock sandals in all shapes and colors. This is my second pair in the Arizona big buckle style and I love it (got the burgundy color with gold buckles), and I’m so happy with my purchase. The leather is oiled and thick, which makes them look modern, stylish and long-lasting. They fit true to size and they’re narrow enough to fit my thin feet nicely and securely. Birkenstock sandals and sneakers are the only thing I’ll wear in the summer. I got these now (fall) because will be visiting Florida soon, and it’s still warm enough there. I have to say that the only style of Birkenstocks that I’ve found to be not so durable is the Gizeh (the thong style); I have them in two colors and for some reason the sole (on both of them) has started to come off on the sides -where they bend from walking- after a few times I’ve worn them. Which is probably not a coincidence, since they’re both the same style and the only two that are falling apart out of all the Birkenstock styles I’ve bought in my life. This being said, I totally recommend the Arizona Big Buckle! They’re FANTASTIC!

I purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks in college. Saved my money and got a fantastic pair of suede forest green Birks. My roommates teased me relentlessly about them. I didn't care then, and I don't care now. I think you either understand the aesthetics and comport of these shoes or not. Love the big buckle and oiled leather. I didn't have any issues with excess glue, width (my feet are medium width), or breaking-in (although you will always have an adjustment period with the muscles in your feet and legs if switching from no -support shoes).

I was worried about the width but I ordered them anyway. I have wide feet, little snug at first but they feel fine after about a week. I love the big gold buckle, super cute!! I loved them so much that I ordered a pair in 3 colors!!

I love these! The color is perfect. No need to break in, super comfortable. The big buckle is a great added touch, and it is not plastic as some reviewers have mentioned. I'm tempted to order a second pair to have when these wear out.

LOVE THIS SHOE. I’m a Birkenstock fan to begin with I was nervous narrow wouldn’t fit my wide foot, (I usually buy regular width) but it was perfect. Love the color and style. So happy I finally decided to try if it would fit (given the price$$$ i was nervous). Birk fans will love it.

Got these for my granddaughter for her birthday and she is going off to college...they were perfect for her and she loves them. Thank you Zappos for always being prompt with delivery and such a good return policy. We don’t need it very often, but thankful for your help when it is needed.

I have 6 pairs of Birkenstock’s and these are the cutest. They were a little harder to break in then my others pairs because they are leather but totally worth it. I love them.

I hesitate to describe a Birkenstock as dressy, but these oxblood beauties look really polished with their big metal buckles and beautiful patina. They are as comfortable as other Birks, but prettier. They fit true to size. I wore them to an all-day antiques market then out to dinner and they stayed really comfortable. I really like the wine-colored leather and footbed! I'm in sunny California, so an autumnal sandal is a great idea. Somebody said they squeak when you walk in the comments. Mine don't.

They are not as comfortable as my previous Arizona Birkenstock’s. I was going to return them but I loved the style so well that I kept them. They are now breaking in and the leather is more flexible so they are comfortable.

These were perfect!! Let me start by saying my feet are like rectangles lol I have free flintstone toes! I usually wear the Gizeh, and I ordered the Metallic Arizona in a reg width in my normal 36- they were HUUUUGE!! I always wanted these big buckles but they only came in narrow, I’m so glad I took a chance bc these are beyond beautiful I want to sleep in them! I know they are pricey but omg they’re so amazing and fit perfectly. I always wear black or armygreen so I got the burgundy. The footbed is also a leather much different than the normal Birk footbed. Gorgeous. If you’re on the fence, get them!! I might become one of those socks and birks people bc I dont just wanna wear these when it’s warm

Dakota Johnson was photographed on the beach with these sandals on in navy blue. Loved them and ordered a pair. They are an understated simply just gorgeous sandal!

Purchased this latest Big Buckle style in the Blue oiled color and love them! I am already a huge fan of the Arizona style in both the classic and soft footbeds, but find this Big Buckle style just a bit more appealing. And, this blue color is a deep rich cobalt blue color, which is enhanced with the brushed gold big buckles.

I had been looking at these since last year. I hadn’t seen them anywhere on the streets or in stores. I went for it. I immediately started collecting compliments and looks of astonishment, due to the oversized gold buckle. That buckle elevates the Arizona to a new level of sophistication, without giving up the comfort and familiar feel of my other Birkenstock’s. The width is slightly more narrow than your other Birk’s, but you won’t care because the buckle and that narrow silhouette makes your ankles look smaller. The foot bed is not soft brushed suede, so these will look newer for longer. I bought the blue ones, and as I’ve been wearing them, the leather is blooming into a beautiful distressed pattern.

I love these Birkenstocks. I bought the navy color. Beautiful shoe. I had no breaking in period whatsoever. These are keepers.

Fit and size were great! This specific Birkenstock Arizona style with the big buckles is stunning! Really fashionable! Makes me feel like i'm enjoying an "on trend" version of the old tried and true Arizona style. The big buckle feels kind of glamourous! Works really well with boot cut jeans or flared jeans or linen shorts/linen pants! Super cute!

I had a smaller size that was sold to me at a department store and it never felt comfortable. Wore them for 1 1/2 years and decided to order another pair in 1 size up which is the correct size. Such a difference when you get the correct size! I just think the high end department store sold me those because they did not have my correct size in stock.

Feel great and look stylish! I get lots of compliments. When they ask where I got them I say- the best way to buy shoes ever- Zappos!

I'm a size 10 and ordered the size 41 narrow and they fit perfectly. Leather is pretty soft and they were very comfortable after a couple of days. Buckles were bigger than I expected but I am liking them. I don't find the foot bed to be slippery either.

I have been wanting a pair of Birkenstocks and this pair did not disappoint! The bigger buckles give them a more modern look and I love being able to adjust them. The buckles are not plastic like some other reviews claim. (At least I don't think they are). I ordered my typical size and they fit like a glove. The only reason I rated them 4 stars for comfort is because you need to break them in. The front leather strap gave my toes a blister when I first wore them. Now they are fine. Also, the cognac leather color is beautiful! I've already received tons of compliments. Splurge! They are worth it!

Really happy with these! Waiting for the Cognac to come back in my size. Initially I was concerned about the narrow width as I have a wider foot but these are totally fine. They don't have a 'soft footbed' like a lot of the Birks so they take a little breaking in. I wore them around the house for a few days and that did the trick. I am really loving the Big Buckle, makes them look just a bit nicer than the regular Arizonas.
