Cute but uncomfortable. The first day I wore them, the top of my foot already was red and the skin was rubbing on that stop strap. I thought, okay, these are new, needs time breaking in. I made the strap one notch bigger, well that brought on a different set of issues. I wear these in an office. As I'm walking, the footing sticks to the arch of my foot, then does a suction thing, as I am walking makes a very loud farting sound. Also like a high pitched farting sound. High pitched, then bubbly fart sound. Sorry to be so detailed but I have small feet too. This sound paired with the pain...they had to go back. I'm going to exchange them with the classic pair I had a long time ago!

Gorgeous but the buckle hurt the top of my foot and it was hard to walk in these. Kept feeling like my foot would slip out. They run big as well.

I’m a medium width size 9. I purchased this in a size 9 narrow and they fit fine. The problem is they don’t stay on my feet, especially going up and down stairs. I’m returning them.

Painful buckle. This shoe is super attractive and I really wanted it to work. However, as the other reviews stated, the large buckle is painful on the top of my foot and caused significant bruising. Sadly, I have to return. It's almost as if the Birkenstock team didn't do any quality assurance - no testing or anything. It's that bad!

So disappointing in a Birkenstock product. Not comfortable at all and size fits strange. Very narrow and long and hard to keep on.

I have had multiple birkenstocks but these dug into my feet (the top).

Very excited to get these shoes but they arrived looking like they had already been worn- the leather was scuffed and unbuckled. Back they go. You can do better Zappos.

Loved them but ordered the 39 narrow which I always do. Too wide. Buckle rubbed on top of foot from inside. Have to return

These are now my favorite Birks. They are so comfortable and cute. I usually order a size 37 in Euro shoes (size 7), but I ordered these in a size 28 based on the Zappos chart. I have narrow feet, but I rarely buy a narrow-sized shoe. I read reviews and decided to order a narrow. I have them on the tightest buckle, and they fit perfectly, staying in place without sliding off my feet.

These shoes are super cute and comfortable except the leather is very stiff and rubs the top of my foot.

I typically wear a 7.5 or 8 so I tried both 38 and 39 narrow fits. The 38 (7-7.5) barely fits lengthwise and feels pretty narrow. My toes have some discomfort when walking. The 39 (8-8.5) fits perfectly length and widthwise but the strap was too big on the tightest setting. I also noticed the strap was a little wider and the buckle a little bigger on the 39 which made the sandal look less dainty on my foot. Sure I could punch another hole in the strap...but then the end of the strap would graze the floor. I opted to go with the 38 narrow but have ordered a 38 regular to see if that helps give my foot some breathing room. Cognac color is gorgeous and goes with everything. I very much appreciate the smooth leather footbed as opposed to the original suede like footbed which always made my feet feel so sweaty. This is such an improvement I will never go back to the suede.

I’m typically a 7.5 and the 38 fits well. I don’t have a ton of wiggle room but the 39 toe strap was too long on the tightest setting. Color is gorgeous and the footbed is super comfy. The traditional cork like bed make my feet feel so sweaty but this smooth footbed is so much more comfortable and cool. Im hooked! Also really appreciate the dainty details and shiny buckle - very classy and versatile. Wire then for Mike long walks and was comfy.

Runs slightly more narrow than I thought but still works. Love these shoes. I typically stay away from birkenstocks because I don't like the feeling of the cork. But the leather base is so comfortable. Great for summer!

I read reviews that said they wore their normal size in this style so despite sizing down in other Birkenstocks I ordered my normal size. They were too large and I had to return for an exchange. My advice is to order your normal Birkenstock size which is a size down from other shoes, Otherwise, I love the style & comfort!

I wear a 37 in Arizona style and had to size up to 39 in these. Love them once I got the right size.

I definitely think a person with a wide foot can wear the "narrow" birks in this style. They are generous. This is my 2nd pair of Madrid Big Buckle Birks and I wear them all of the time in the summer. Love them so much. Casual or dressy, always a winnter

I loved these shoes, but ended up returning these for black as the color just didn't look great on my skin tone.

LOVE THESE. A great stylish addition to my closet for summer. I don't know who I've become with 7 pair of Birks, but after spending a lifetime walking barefoot, here we are. These are adorable, but I do think the leather coated bottom takes longer to break in than a standard Birko-Flor sole.
