The fit was great. The shoes came with the leather on both shoes very scuffed up and the buckle was not done on the shoes. Not sure if this is how the shoe is supposed to be or if it was a return but for the money they should have been in perfect condition.

The buckle on top was very uncomfortable and immediately rubbed.

The patent/plastic cuts the top of foot. The footbed is quite slippery. Too bad because they look super cute.

Theses are molded shoes, therefore if you have Greek, Celtic or Roman shaped feet, they aren’t comfortable.

I actually got these to use as house slippers. I need something with support but my feet are narrow so 99% of slippers don't work. The problem with these is the footbed. It's black and the dye wears off on my feet. I really don't want to walk around with black dye on my feet. This is a problem.

I have 5 pairs of birkenstocks. I love them .This footbed is the same very comfortable, however the top leather is extremely stiff and uncomfortable, so much so I didnt feel I would even be able to break it in .I am returning

These are cute and I have been very torn about returning them. Ultimately, I decided to send them back. I am a big fan of the original Madrid and I like the look of the Big Buckle and the brown leather. I do not like the feel of the buckle and expect that the top of my foot will be sore from hitting the buckle repeatedly. It just hits my foot on a very tender spot. Additionally I do not like the leather footbed. When I walk, the shoe produces a sucking sound as my foot comes off the footbed. I am returning for a classic Madrid with the standard footbed.

They fit my feet but are not comfortable at all. I can wear them to ride to a restaurant and sit down., or anything that doesn't involve a lot of walking. Disappointed; they are not cheap.

I wanted to like these so much. I ordered them, walked around a bit in them and the big buckle cut into the top of my foot really bad. I am not sure if it would get better as they break in but I did not want to risk it. They are so cute! I love the color and the style, but the top buckle was very uncomfortable.

I have four pairs of the traditional Madrid and take them with me on vacation - it dresses up any outfit. However the big buckle is too big plus the weight of the buckle presses down on the top of my foot. I wish Zappos would carry these in Medium width instead of only narrow and I hope Birkenstock brings back the more classic Madrid.

I really wanted to like these but the strap felt sharp so I returned. The purple orchid color was very pretty though. I also liked the shiny gold buckle.

While the shoe fit comfortably on my footbed, they literally did not stay strapped on to my foot with buckle goin across my toes.

After loving the original Madrid, I tried these. NOT comfortable. The footbed is different, harder, and the strap and buckle are too wide and stiff, which hurts the top of my foot. I'm exchanging for the original Madrid.

The inside sole is very slippery so every time I took a step my foot slipped too far forward.

I didn’t realize the footbed was plastic not cork. It was very difficult to buckle, the holes were much smaller than the buckle.

I am too disappointed that I need to return these shoes. They are so cute and I love the color. However as soon as I put them on my feet it was like wearing torture devices. The leather is so stiff and immediately cut into the tops of my feet, that after 10 minutes I had deep red marks on both feet. I tried wearing them for a few minutes at a time in the house, hoping they would get better, but this leather is not Birkenstock quality, yet they are Birkenstock price. Also the foot bed is some kind of slippery plastic, and not suede leather so your foot slides back and forth. I hope the people at Birkenstock redesign these to be up to their standards.

The sandals were thrown in the plain brown box, no paperwork with Birkenstock labeling, they appeared used or as seconds the buckle was undone sandal flapping open on one, materials appear poor in quality. I will order from Birkenstock.

I wish I could give this negative stars. The buckle while it did not rub directly on your foot dug into the top of my foot causing sever blistering. So disappointed after spending $150 on these. Will look for another go to brand as been buying Birkenstock for decades.

These are so cute and I was so hopeful that I finally found a cute pair of modern style for those of us who wear narrow widths. They were cute, narrow enough but they were stiff, uncomfortable and flopped when walking. I am a member of a group that I posted on for some of the other gals looking for a narrow fit. I had about 5 different girls give a bad review on these shoes also. I still held out hope that these would work but unfortunately I had to returned them. !

I do have narrow feet and ordered the narrow, but cannot keep them on my feet. Therefore, they are very uncomfortable.

The buckle hits in a weird and very uncomfortable place on my foot. The size was fine, the way it hit the top of my foot was not. Had to return.

These sandals ended up being very painful and bruised my foot on the top.

I wore them in the house for maybe 10 minutes and already getting blister. The buckle area is too stiff and uncomforable.

Shoes are great but the big buckle HURTS! Can you make fun colors with the small regular buckle please?

I was very excited when I initially ordered these. I've owned a pair of Birkenstocks in the past and loved them. These were the most uncomfortable sandals I've ever worn. The sandal was causing my toes to bleed. How the material rubbed against my feet was unbearable. Unfortunately, I had to return.
