I am so delighted that these butt ugly shoes are fashionable at the moment. These give my feet a chance to recover from super flat flats and super high high heels. Comfort wise, these are a mere whisper away from orthopedic sneakers with Velcro straps. Style wise, well, kind of the same comparison but some painted toenails can do wonders. These fit just as my Boston Birks did back in college when I was going through my grunge/hippie phase. The classics never change. I normally wear a size 6/36 and have a slightly narrow foot with an average arch. I chose to go with 36 regular. These have been my go-to flip flops since I bought them 4 weeks ago. Out of the box, they were almost too small (37 regular and narrow were huge, so 36 had to work). As I was expecting, they stretched a bit but that has worked out in my favor. Get these shoes, as well as some fun nail polish. Your feet will love you.

Been a long time since i last wore Birkenstock's. Glad I got these. Have a bad neuroma and plantar fasciitis and these provide the support I need to ease the pain. They look good too!

Purchased the silver Gizeh and love this shoe!! I needed arch support and it delivers for sure. Toe post hurt on one foot for a couple days but now all is good. I wear size 9 and 39EU fit well. Highly recommend this shoe. I'll be looking for a Birkenstock style to wear in winter.

I wore the shoes around the house for a couple weeks before venturing outside. I wear flip flops a lot which have no arch support so my feet needed an adjustment period. I'm happy so say that I was able to wear these while in DC. There was a lot of walking involved and my feet were comfortable the entire time.

I love these sandals. I now own three pairs. They look good with shorts, skirts, dresses and pants...I have a hard time wearing any other sandal. I own the bronze, blue and orange...love them.

I bought the "slim" option of this sandal, which makes the sandal more stylish and less clunky, even though my foot is a normal width and perhaps a tad wide. Be aware that these sandals run very large. I usually wear a 39 in European sizes (8-8 1/2 in US sizes), but the 39 was so large I had to return it for a 38 (7 1/2). Zappos makes it so easy to return items in exchange for a different size. The 38 "slim" fit perfectly! These are the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. They give fantastic support! I can and do wear them all day long.

These are the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned! They're super cute and go with most of my wardrobe. They have a slight green/ silver sheen to them so they're a "funky neutral" if you may. They never hurt my feet, there is no "break in" period with these shoes. Just like fine wine, they seem to get better as they age. They mold to my feet the more I wear them. Wonderful!

I love the look of these sandals, casual yet classy. When I first got them out of the box they were very hard and uncomfortable. I was in disbelief after seeing 800+ reviews with five out of five stars that these were the same shoes. After wearing them around the house for several weeks I finally wore them outside. I guess my shoes are starting to mold it to the shapes of my feet because they don't hurt anymore. I've grown to like these shoes enough that I recently ordered another pair.

This is the second pair of these Birkenstock that I have had. The first pair I bought 3 years ago in Italy and they still aren't worn out and I wear them frequently. They are very comfortable. I have them in black and brown.

I love these shoes! I get lots of compliments on them (I think the silver color is key to the looking fashionable) and I'd like to think they're good for my feet. They did take some breaking in but it was worth it.

These are so comfortable. I wore these walking around all week in a theme park and they were perfect. No blisters or anything. I want them in every color! It poured down rain one day when I wore these and they held up great. They stayed comfortable, did not get heavy, and dried just fine. I would recommend them to anyone. They fit true to size.

Best shoe purchase to date. I was hesitant at first to venture into the world of putting comfort over style when it comes to shoes...but with these I didn't have to compromise at all. I get compliments on them frequently. They are flattering and work with my business casual wardrobe well. Size 39 fit my 8.5-9 size foot well.

It is always best to be fitted properly as the European sizes are different and the sandals must fit properly. I knew from previous purchases that my size is 38 (8and 1/2 American. I am very happy with my purchase.

I love this shoe! Got it yesterday, and it's really comfortable. I love the fact that the blue has a slight metallic look to it. I have noticed that some have said the toe thing isn't comfortable. I've found that the comfort level is tied to the adjustable buckle. I loosened the left one notch, and it's fine. I loosened the right one a notch and had to move it back because it made it uncomfortable. Love the shoe!

Fantastic sandal! I have plantar fasciitis and slight pronation in my knees. I have always relied on Reefs brand flip flops for my go to summer shoes, but have found the arch support dwindles over time. These are an amazing upgrade, minus the fact that you probably don't want to get them wet. I got these about 3 months ago and have literally been wearing them every day. I have had zero pain in my arches and they are very comfortable to walk in. I wear a 6.5 in Clarks and got a 37 in these and they fit wonderfully. I have and will recommend these shoes to others. I was afraid that they would look a little "old lady" but actually look really great and I get compliments. Worth the price, super comfy, all around great shoe!

I love these shoes! I'm a new mom and constantly on my feet and was looking for a good supportive shoe to wear around the house, first and foremost. This is it - and they're so cute I'm excited to wear them all summer - maybe even outside the house! I'm usually an 8.5-9 so I ordered the 40 but they ended up being too big. I then ordered the 39 and they fit perfectly.

I love these shoes! It does take my toes awhile to adjust to the thing between my toes (does that thing have a name?), but once they do these are my go-to summer sandals. They look great with skinny jeans, trousers, and skirts. I get many compliments on them every time I wear them. And my new pedi is shown off nicely.

I've recently bought a pair of Birks, due to them being the cool thing now in school, and I love them! They do strain your feet if not the correct size, but they easily slip on, slip off! You can wear anything with these shoes, so I highly recommend them.

I've finally decided to start investing in good casual shoes. These felt great on my feet. The piece between the toes was leather and comfortable, not hard plastic like some of the reviews I read. I recently had my feet sized, and my feet are a size 6, but my arch length is a size 7. In an athletic shoe I almost always wear a size 7, but in sandals I usually go with a 6 1/2. I ordered these in a size 37 and they were too long for me. Even in a smaller size, I do not think my feet would have looked good in these as I have shortish toes, and the leather between the toes was long and extended out, covering most of my big toe. To be clear, I'm reviewing the Birkenstock Gizeh Birko-Floor sandal in Licorice. I've found sometimes reviews don't seem to match the shoe I'm looking at! I really wanted to love these, but they did not work for me. I may try a different style in a smaller size.

I love my Birks! They do run about a size larger and you want to make sure to get the right size because of the toe support molding in the front of the shoe. I bought my first pair last spring and wore them every day for the entire summer and they still look like new. Bought two more pair this spring.

I wish I would have bought these awesome Gizehs when I first wanted them years ago. The only problem with them is that they are the only shoes I want to wear now! I typically wear a 7.5/8 and the 38s fit me perfectly. The titanium color is versatile (gotta love a metallic!) and stylish. Lots of arch support, too. There is of course that pesky “breaking in” period, but it only took a few days before they started to mold to my foot. A month in and they’re only getting better. I highly recommend these shoes!

I have had plantar fasciitis for 9 years. These are the shoes/sandals I wear when I come home. They have the perfect arch support and heel support for troubled aching feet. They also come in narrow which I need. They are the only sandal I can wear.

Size guide for small(er) feet: I am a true 6½ and I took the advice of another fellow 6/6½ Birkenstock wearer and ordered this style and the Boston style in size 36. They fit absolutely perfectly. I tried on the 37 at Nordstrom and they were too big. Not a little big, but a whole size big. I also ordered the Birkenstock Boston in 36. For reference, here are my sizes in these particular brands: Nike Air Max 2009 & 2014 (size 6), Nike Free Run 2.0 and 4.0 (size 6½), J. Crew Heels (size 6½), Saucony Mirage running shoes (size 6½), Dansko clogs (size 37). I really hope this helps with a size guide for small(er) feet!

Ok, I almost ordered these shoes about 3 hours ago, and I was trying to decide between a 38 and a 39, since I am always in between a 7.5 and an 8. I would say that I'm an 8 about 60% of the time, and 7.5 about 40% of the time. The only other size I have ever worn is 8.5 in some high-end designer shoes. I had no idea what to do with these, so I decided to actually go try them on somewhere. Well, I just did that and I am a perfect 37, which is 6-6.5 in US sizes. So I would recommend ordering a full size or size and a half down. I just had to come back on here and share this as a public service. :-) As for style, this is my first pair of Birkenstocks and I kind of wish they were somehow narrower, but then I guess they wouldn't be super comfortable. Can't win them all! The other interesting thing is that I completely intended to buy the white patent leather ones, and then when I got there I loved the antique lace ones. They look a little pink in this picture, but in real life they are sort of warm pearlescent. Ok, good luck everyone!
