These are really comfy. I love the thong...it gives the casual sandal a more sexy look.

I usually wear an 8.5, but when I ordered these in 39 (US size 8-8.5) I had to send them back. I got them in 38 and they fit wonderfully. I love them!! I am a person who takes my shoes off as soon as I get home because I like to be barefoot, but I've been keeping these on at home too because they are so comfortable!

Love "birks" - my second pair of same shoe (I wear them day & night, gardening, walking dog 2 miles plus daily), could not be happier.

These are great sturdy supportive sandals. Beware that they run large. I had to get the 36 (women's 5-5.5) and I am a women's 7 in every other shoe.

I just can't say enough about Zappos! I ordered these shoes and it felt like hours later they arrived. I have fought ordering Birkenstocks for a while now, but from running so much, my podiatrist told me it was a must. I ordered several colors and finally settled on licorice. The black colorway was too much...but licorice was perfect! Thanks Zappos for great SD how's and over the top customer service!

I've worn these shoes for years and now they are so popular! They are my go-to summer sandal and I can walk for miles in them. I always go down a size, wearing a 36 (5-5.5) when I usually am a 37 (6-6.5). I find my toes bump the top rim just a little bit, but I'd rather that then feeling clunky in a size too big.

I love them! They were comfortable from the very beginning and I've now walked miles in them. They're cute, durable, and very comfy. Fits true to size.

I recently broke my toe and was given a boot for protection. The boot hurt my foot and these Birkenstocks saved my life. I got the black patent and I can wear them to work, out to dinner and hanging out. OK if I had to go to a cocktail party that is different... But, seriously (I am probably preaching to the choir) these sandals are great! They run true to size and provide good support. If you are comfortable in thong sandals, try them!

I had these in white years ago and loved them. These are an off white, light beige but I really like them. They will go with more things than pure white. I have had considerable back pain which relates somewhat to shoes. I am grateful to have the Birkinstocks because they are great with my back and allows me to wear sandals. Since I live in AZ, I can actually wear them pretty well year round.

I just received these in black patent yesterday. I was formally an "I would sooner die than wear Birkenstocks." But I wanted sandals that offered arch support, are comfortable and look good. I immediately opened the box and put these on. The plastic thong did not bother me at all. Maybe because I am used to wearing thong sandals. I am in love with these, they are very comfortable and look great. I am already thinking about a second pair. As far as sizing - I am a 7½ and based on other reviews I ordered a 38 and although I have never needed narrow width shoes my feet are probably closer to narrow than wide so I took a chance and ordered in narrow. I am so glad that I did. The side and width are absolutely perfect. They fit like a glove. The black patent is so cute. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

The most comfortable sandals ever! It will take you a few days to get used to a plastic part between toes, but I consider it a minor thing. I literally pulled this pair out of the box and wore them for 2 weeks in Europe. Not a single blister! It has never happened to me before. Highly recommend. I'm normally size 8,5, I bought size 9 and they were perfect.

Love these shoes! I have the antique lace color and it's a very light gold. The fit is great and they are extremely durable. Great purchase.

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks and from just putting them on it probably won't be my last. Seem very comfy and wide enough for my feet.

These were comfortable right out of the box for me. The silver is really cute and goes with many things - shorts, jeans, skirts. Love them! I am a size 6 and wear a 36 in Birkenstocks.

I have wanted these shoes for over a year. They are extremely comfortable and I love the black onyx color - it goes with everything. I originally was searching for a nude patent leather but I couldn't find anything in that shade so opted for the black onyx and I'm very happy with the choice. I normally wear a US size 8 but I ordered the European size 38 and they fit perfectly.

I really love these so far! My only issue was choosing a size; I generally wear an 8.5 or a 9 and their sizing splits at those sizes. A 39 is an 8-8.5 and a 40 is 9-9.5. I went with the 40 to be safe based on other reviews and I almost wish I hadn't. I feel like my toes are in the right place, but there is too much space behind my heel. My husband assures me that they don't "look too big" so I am keeping them. I love everything else!

I have been ordering shoes on Zappos for a number of years. Their customer service is the best, extremely friendly and always making sure that you are 100% satisfied. I love the wide inventory of shoes they carry.

These are fabulous! I followed the advice of many commenters to order a size down, and they are perfect. I am normally an 8 / 39 but ordered the 38 regular and they fit very well. The adjustable strap makes them nice and snug to your feet with no flip-flipping sounds. I wore them for hours the first day and they were very comfortable, but I am very use to wearing thong style sandals. I ordered the Toffee-Birko, and expected it to be more of a deep brown, but it is more of a deep bronze with a slight metallic sheen, which I am actually quite happy with. I'll be getting more.

These are comfortable. I have really wide feet (usually 7-7.5) But my normal size was too big. Went down to next size and they're perfect. These are my first Birks and I love them. I gave 4 stars for comfort because if I walk 2 miles in them I need a break.

These sandals are fantastic! I was worried that the straps would be too wide since I have a low-volume foot, but I was able to tighten them perfectly and still have another notch to go. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on. I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 and the 38s fit perfectly. I also tried 39s and they were definitely too big.

Bought these to walk Europe. Did over 115 miles in 8 days and not one sore, blister, rub mark. Not one. Also they still look brand new. Best shoes ever.
