The sandals were too big.

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks and I love them! I was hesitant to try them because some of the reviews made them seem difficult to break in, but I haven't had any problems at all. I feel like I'm getting a foot massage when I wear them. I wear flip flops regularly so the thong does not bother me at all. I purchased a size 39 regular, I wear an 8 1/2 and these are a perfect fit.

I have been very pleased with my first ever pair of Birkenstocks-Gizeh Birko-Flor golden brown color. I've been wearing them for a year after gathering with college girlfriends for a reunion and noticing the majority of them were wearing the same sandal just varying colors! They all laughed and shared how they live in them all summer. I'm a high school teacher and wear them occasionally for work and need to buy a new pair because I've worn them down a bit! I would say that it takes several times of wearing them regularly before you have them "broken in" for your own feet AND if you do have to develop a callous between your big and 2nd toe for these to feel fully comfortable. What I like is that I can wear them with shorts or with a skirt or casual dress especially because these are slightly more fancy with the golden brown color. Best pair of sandals for the summer. Highly recommend, cute and so comfy

These are my favorite summer shoes. I've been wearing the Gizeh style for probably 10 years now. They are so comfortable! I buy a new pair every few years bc they're basically all I wear in the summer. I commute in to NYC, which includes at least 30 minutes of intense walking/day. These shoes put up with a lot! I love the pearl color, it is so versatile.

I have been wearing birks on and off for 20 years now. I don't find them especially attractive shoes but their comfort can't be beat! I have falling arches and a problem with a ligament on the side of my foot which makes wearing regular flip flops very painful. I have orthotics for my arches but with birks I don't need them. I love how these sandals form to your foot to make the perfect fit. I don't understand why people are complaining about the piece between your toes. I don't even feel that piece. My guess is that people didn't buy the correct size or tighten the sandal properly. I am typically a size 10 but in birks I wear a 40 which they say is a size 9 - 9.5.

This is the second pair of Birkenstocks I have bought in a month which shows how much I love these shoes! This time I bought the Gizeh in antique white and love how versatile it is. They are so comfortable and supportive. I normally wear flip flops in the summer but have recently had increasing mild soreness in my feet and back and switched to mostly gym shoes which were hot and confining. Birkenstocks were the solution I needed. I normally wear a size 7 or 7.5, but in these the 6 fit perfectly.

I wanted to love these, but for me they just weren't comfortable , thanks to Zappos for the easy return process

I love these shoes on other people and have been wanting a pair for a long time, but they just seem incompatible with my feet. I'm a 8/8.5, and the 39 ran huge. I exchanged for a 38 but the toe box was ever-so-slightly too short (my "ring toe" was rubbing). They look adorable on others, and it's a well-made shoe, but they're not meant for me.

The best, as usual! This is my third pair of gizehs, I already had metallic gold and antique lace. Same fit as all my other Birkenstocks. I wanted a color that matched just about everything, and the toffee is perfect! A nice medium brown with a hint of shimmer, easy to dress up or down! Comfortable, stylish, and good for my feet-- no buyer's remorse here! Arrived on my doorstep less than 24 hours after I purchased them; thanks Zappos for consistently offering the BEST customer service!

My first pair and I'm in love! The delicate shiny pale pink color makes it perfect for all outfits! I can dress them up or down and wear them all day without any problems.

I hesitated buying these, but my arch was really beginning to hurt more and the Naot sandals that I've loved for years was just not doing it for anymore! I hate flip flops, so I was afraid the thong sandal would irritate my toes, but it really doesn't! The little piece in between your toes is very narrow so you barely feel it at all! They also look nice too--much more fashionable than I thought!

Such a comfortable Sandler. Does not slip at all! My new favorite shoe.

My first pair of Birkenstocks and I'm bummed I waited so long to try them! Such a comfortable sandal. My feet were hurting from wearing flip flops too often, and these are a great solution. My feet feel great and well supported.

Love Birkenstock! I am typically a 9.5 and bought the 40 and they fit perfectly! Once they form to your foot too they are SO comfortable. Wear them all the time, practically the only sandal I wear.

So cute and comfortable! I wear these all the time from running around with my son to having a casual dinner with friends. They are not only comfortable but nice looking as well. They always feel a little hard until I break them in but otherwise a plus!!!

These shoes were exactly as I expected. If you are new to Birkenstock, you will need to size down a full size. They are very stiff and a bit uncomfortable when you first get them, so you will need to wear them in. After that, they are very supportive and comfortable. I realized I like my pair without the piece between the toes better, but that is just a preference. I ordered the Onyx Birko-flor. The color is very pretty and more versatile than I imagined.

I love this shoe!!!! The color can go with anything. I went to an outside event where I had to do a lot of walking my feet did not hurt....I highly recommend this shoe

I love it

This is the second pair of Birkenstocks that I purchased within about a month of each other. I also have the mayari style. I have plantar fasciitis and heel pain that is excruciating at times. These sandals are absolutely amazing. So comfortable and supportive right out of the box. I have tried Spenco and Vionic and neither provided the relief that the Birkenstocks have. I am so happy with my purchases. So are my feet.

I got these shoes to go on vacation since I was going to be doing a lot of walking. I wore them a few times before my trip to break them in, and am glad I did. They are initially a bit uncomfortable and especially on the arch of my foot. After wearing them about 4 times for long period of time they were good to go. I wore them for my vacation and never once did they hurt my feet. They were very comfortable, and Im so glad I purchased them.

These are wonderful sandals. They are extremely comfortable and can be dressed up or down. I was nervous about the toe part being uncomfortable, but it is not at all and the shoes fit great. They are my favorite Birkenstocks.

I love these shoes! I'm a Keen and Birkenstock junkie ever since I broke my foot 4 years ago. Comfort and arch support are essential for me - without them my former break starts to hurt again. I have purchased no other brands (despite trying). So finding Birks that are really cute is a huge win. I was worried that the Gizeh would feel too floppy, but they've been a staple since they arrived, wearable with skirts, shorts, and the lightweight linen/hemp pants that I love in the Florida heat.

Very comfortable - love them and wear them all the time.
