This is a great upgrade from my previous surge backpack that lasted many many years. The distribution of the pockets and sizes are great, and I love the new and improved water bottle sleeves on the sides that hold all sizes of bottles a lot better. It is very comfortable and great for commuting to work on my bicycle.

Reading the reviews beforehand, I was a little cautious that the shoulder straps would hold up. For my purpose of transporting a laptop, cables and sometimes a lunch to and from work it's been perfect and doesn't show any wear over the past 3 months. It's true the should straps are connected at the top to the bag by cloth material but it feels pretty sturdy as long as this backpack isn't overloaded constantly. For work or school if you're able to grab the Surge on sale, a solid performer imo.

It's sturdy and also light weight for the size it looks. The pockets are good sized and there's just a lot of storage. Also, I can fit my 15" laptop easily

Tons of pockets and storage. My child uses it for school. Only thing I'd like is if the pockets could stretch a little further to accommodate more books. But maybe that's really a problem with the teachers giving too many textbooks.

I recently purchased the North Face Surge backpack for my daily commute and outdoor adventures, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. This backpack combines functionality, durability, and style seamlessly, making it a standout choice for anyone in need of a reliable bag.
Firstly, the design of the Surge is sleek and modern, with clean lines and a range of color options to suit any preference. The attention to detail is evident in the robust construction and high-quality materials used throughout. The padded shoulder straps and back panel provide excellent comfort, even when carrying heavy loads for extended periods.
The organization features of the Surge are where it truly shines. The multiple compartments, including a dedicated laptop sleeve and a spacious main compartment, make it easy to keep my belongings neatly organized and easily accessible. The numerous pockets, both inside and out, are perfect for storing smaller items like keys, phone, and pens, ensuring I never have to dig around for essentials.
In terms of durability, the Surge exceeds expectations. The tough, water-resistant fabric and reinforced stitching give me confidence that this backpack can withstand the rigors of daily use and outdoor adventures alike. Whether I'm hiking through , I know my belongings are well-protected.
One standout feature of the Surge is its versatility. While primarily designed as a commuter backpack, it's equally suitable for weekend getaways or day hikes. The comfortable, breathable design keeps me feeling fresh even on long journeys, while the adjustable sternum strap and waist belt provide added stability when needeed
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the North Face Surge backpack. It combines style, functionality, and durability in a way that few other backpacks can match. Whether you're a busy professional, a weekend warrior, or an avid traveler, the Surge is sure to meet your needs and exceed y

This backpack is amazing. It is so convenient for school. I use it as an architecture student to haul my laptop, iPad, art supplies, a menagerie of other tech, snacks and much more.
It's a little stiff, but I've only had it a few months, but the fabric feels high quality. Also, it doesn't actually stand up on its own for me which is slightly annoying .

Good quality. Feel like it needs one less pocket to make one of them bigger but it is what I bought and I am happy with it.

I got this for my middle school son when his cheap backpack started tearing all over. It's held up impressively well and little to no wear on it after a good while. It fits all his things (laptop, binders, pencil bag, etc) without being full and without looking massive. He loves it and I like a bag that will last him a few years!
