This is a big shoe. I did not expect that this size would run this large I was falling out of it when I briefly tried them on. Unfortunately returning for this reason.

To be clear, I bought these shoes from a Dr. Martens store and not on Zappos. I am a long time Dr. Martens wearer and Dr. Martens is definitely not what they use to be. I purchase from Zappos often and wanted to warn potential purchasers they will not be getting the shoes they expect and the customer service from Dr. Martens is not the same as the past. Simply said, if you re expecting the legendary Dr. Martens, they no longer exist. Dr. Martens was purchased by private equity conglomerate Permira in late 2013. Permira is cashing in by marketing the legend and delivering a cheaper, lower quality product. As a 20+ year daily wear of Dr Martens, the new Dr Martens are of noticeably lesser quality and customer service is typical of conglomerates (i.e., pathetic). Purchased 2 pairs (boots and wingtips) at a Dr. Martens store recently, spending well over $400. They were a bit tight in the store, but knew Dr. Martens need to be broken in . Wore boots to car and shoes to work the next day for 3 hours until the blisters appeared. Got looking at shoes and realized the salesperson had provided me with a size smaller than I requested (same on boots). Both the shop and corporate response was, too bad, you wore them, they can t be exchanged . I can think of any number of lesser quality retail companies that would have exchanged these items without question. The sting is even greater since their own salesperson had a big hand in this transaction (personal lesson learned to be more careful: you are definitely on your own). I have always justified spending much more on Dr Martens because they last forever, they are extremely comfortable, and customer service was out of this world. However if you think you re buying that legend, you re not. You re paying a lot for just average shoes from a company cashing in on a name. I use to say proudly Dr. Martens are the only shoes anyone should own. I m very sad that I can no longer make this statement. There are pricey new Dr Martens sitting in a closet. There are a pair of 16 year old Dr. Martens on my feet. I was looking to replace the legends because the treads on the sole had worn down a bit and learned a hard lesson: they don t make Dr. Martens anymore and Dr. Martens could care less about its customers. Here s hoping the soles on the real Dr. Martens last a long time.

I bought these shoes just four months ago, (I started wearing them 60 days ago) and they are already worn out. The outsole is detaching from the body of the shoe. (Right now it is about a 4" tear) I am very disappointed, as I buy Dr. Martens for their durability, comfort and style, and these have worn out in less than 60 wears.

The leather on these is incredibly cheap it looks almost fake. For some reason the same model in the Doc Marten's store in New York City looked much better and more expensive. I bought these for work but stopped wearing them after two weeks because they did not look like real leather. They are also pretty hard on the ankles since they weigh a lot. These sit in the bottom of my closet.

Zappos service was great, but shoes were uncomfortable. Leather around ankle very stiff.
