Topo Traverse served me well on the AT this summer. Held up well to the demanding day in and day out rocks, roots and slab the trail can dish out. Drained well and kept me upright in wet conditions. Recommended the shoe to a fellow hiker and he is sold on the Traverse.

This is the best hiking shoe I've ever worn. After years battling foot and leg issues, I got these shoes for the first time in 2025, and after multiple backpacking trips (the longest 100 miles in the Sierras carrying a 50 lb pack), I had no issues. Designs I love: the toe box, the rock plate, the simple & resilient upper, the secure midfoot and heel, the tough sole. I'd be curious to try it with a millimeter more cushion. And I'd like the heel loop to be vertical. Otherwise, it's perfect.

I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2025 and wore the Traverse as my shoe of choice the entire way. I went through 4 pairs, averaging 500-600 miles per shoe. Each time I switched, the uppers were completely intact and still looked brand new. The vibram sole is tried and true and is incredibly sticky even on wet rocks. The rock plate is a game changer in rough new england terrain (slippery on wet roots though). Super quick to dry and pretty comfortable for my feet. Everybody's feet are different but I absolutely swear by these shoes for a thru-hike, and I also enjoy trail running in them.

I am a weekend hiking warrior. At the age of 61, getting in 33 miles in a weekend would be difficult without shoes like the Topo Traverse. The heel-to-toe drop of 5 mm decreases the chances of ankle impingement. The stack height of 33 mm to 25 mm gives you just the right amount of cushion but doesn't limit the feel of the ground. The rock plate is an added bonus for those sketchy rocky areas we sometimes hit. I have hiked over 100 miles in these shoes and have never been disappointed.

These shoes held up to 100 miles in the Dolemites, including nasty scree, talus, and via ferrata climbing. The forefoot rockplate was solid and protected my feet against roots, rock, everything. The torsional rigidity was stellar. The toe protector and rand show no significant wear, which is unbelievable. While my shoes were stellar even in wet, my hiking partners in the Salomon Quest 4 and Salewa Alps were falling apart at the seams. These shoes have 300 rugged hiking miles left on them.

I purchased my Topo Traverse shoe for a rim to rim hike of the Grand Canyon. I primarily trail run, as well as hiking and I noticed the Traverse was advertised as being good for both. I already had a pair of Topo road running shoes and had liked them very much. My local shop had the Traverse so I was fortunate enough be able to try them on. I am wearing a 10.5 in this shoe while most shoes I wear are 9.5 or 10. After using them for a couple of months, I ordered a second pair. Enjoying these shoes very much and they are holding up well thus far!

This is my third pair of Topos. I've gone through 2 pair of Terraventure 4s and they were great. But the Traverse, after wearing them for a month, are absolutely next level. I hit our normal trails a couple of times and liked them. Then I wore them on a 2-week trip that included a lot of walking, and a very difficult hike straight up a mountain, with lots of cobbles and steep bare rock faces, and they stuck like glue. I never worried. Definitely the best hikers I've ever owned.

Compared to other Topos shoes I've tried, the toe box is very slightly narrower - I usually get away with standard width. In this case I had to get the wide - the forefoot and heel still fit very well, in Topos fashion. The particular Topos has quite a bit more support than the other models I've tried in the past - perfect for me.

I wish I could give these shoes more than 5 stars. I just received my pair of Traverse and took them out for try and they were amazing out of the box! I've never worn such comfortable and more importantly such well fitting shores! I'm in love. Last month I came off a 13 day hike on the Camino de Santiago in different pair of shoes and my feet were a mess. I so wish I had the Traverses on that hike. I'm tempted to buy another pair to have when I wear these ones out. Thanks Topo for an amazing shoe, and please don't stop making this model.

This is a great hiking shoe and I am opting for the wider version as my feet are very wide across the front of my foot. I tried the wide version and they are great for me for hiking.

My feet are wide across the toes with narrow heels making for a difficult fit, but Topo shoes manage to make it work! I have used these new Traverse shoes on several rocky hikes in the Sierra Mountains, and they are rigid enough but with still enough cushioning to make for a comfortable and secure experience. Compared to my Ultraventure Topos, they have a more robust tread that I expect to last a longer period but are still nearly as comfortable standing around as in my Ultraventure shoes.

I am a retired soldier with foot, knee and back problems. All of the Topo trail and road shoes have been great for me, including traverse.. I wear them daily in mixed terrain and love the durability and fit. Since they're doing a #sweepstakes and asked for a review after my last purchase, there it is #sweeepstakes.

I added hiking to my fitness routine earlier this year to lose weight and get in shape. I was using a hiking shoe from one of the major brands, but was getting 'hiking toe' and some small blisters. Did a lot of online research on Topo and became interested in the wider toebox with the regular width heel and mid-foot. For me, this shoe lives up to the reviews and the manufacturer's statements! I am extending my mileage and increasing my pace since I changed to the Topo Traverse. Feet feel great after each hike.

I've been wearing these on weekend hikes for about 5 months. I'm very pleased with the fit and performance but there is some unusal wear occuring. The shoes are shredding at a flex point which is mainly cosmetic at this point. Hope it doesn't get much worse.

The Traverse is a great hiking shoe. I appreciate the relatively low heel-toe drop, wide toebox and midfoot stability. The shoes performed well in some recent hikes up rocky terrain in the Adirondacks. (Thank you, rockplates.) The Traverses are probably overkill for my daily walks, which are mostly on pavement. For those, I prefer the Topo MT-4, which is sadly no longer produced.

I have been trail running and hiking in Topo's for several years now. I wore the Traverse on a 250 KM trek across the Atacama Desert in Chile. The shoes provided good support and comfort over a variety of tough desert terrain. No issues with shoe performance. Recommend these shoes for long runs and hikes over rough terrain.

Nice design and some cushion compared to other hikers. It fit me a bit snug in the mid and I retunred for the wide which was better. Just completed 75 mile week long trip and they performed.

I have several pairs of shoes from various brands. I was looking to find the best shoe for my PCT trip planned for next year. I keep coming back to the Traverse. My feet feel amazing after 20+ miles. The toe box is the perfect size. My only complaint is the lack of color selection. I hope we will have more to choose from soon.

I bought the shoes to walk 1200km on the Camino Frances (de Santiago) and the Camino Portuguese in consecutive walks in 2025. They felt secure, great grip and the roomy space around my toes resulted in zero blisters!!

These are much better hiking shoes that the ultraverse i used previously. They have better heel cushion, a stronger base, and stiffer sides. They don't breathe quite as well but its not a huge deal.

Almost new when I flew to France to walk the Camino de Santiago. No blisters, no trouble of any kind, very comfortable all the way. I never slipped in these shoes, and a lot of people did. The soles had great grip, obviously and the large gaps between the lugs didn't get clogged. My feet didn't slip forward on downhills, I think the insole prevented that. I think I could do another big Camino in this same pair. They dried quickly, walking in them wet was never a problem.
