The material was nice. The uppers were an improvement over the old Birki Flor and the sole was flexible and felt moderately supportive. Unfortunately, the width was a deal breaker. They were just too wide for my foot even though I am very flat footed with fallen arches. I only wear Birkenstock shoes and I'd wanted a pair that I could walk in without stepping out of them. I was disappointed that these didn't work out for me.

This 9-9.5 size is not what I expected and that is usually what I wear. It would have been better to buy a true 39 for open toed birk for me than this 9-9.5 which actually turned out to be a size 40. I should have noticed that and not worn and try to make them work - but I did, and so they are no longer pristine and new. I won't be able to return so will try to sell to someone who wants a 40. Also, I find I much prefer the leather over the man made sandals.

This shoe runs very large and therefore door does not fit in the molded sections of the shoe. Little tight on the toes. Buckle straps are difficult to change.
