I was so sad when TEVA purchased and then discontinued Alps. Now I am happy again but worried they won't continue being available. Other comment, hideous new color.

In the mid-nineties I began buying Alp sandals. Perfect for sailing and general wear around and in water, the "spider rubber" sole wore like iron. They are comfortable day after day. I still have and wear the last of the lot. (They are very thin). When Teva "Revived" the Alp, I was enthused. Upon receipt, I wore them all day for days and bought two additional pair. They are that good.

So grateful to be able to once again purchase Alps-style sandals. I have been sparingly been wearing my original Teva Alps for several years just to be able to have them a little longer. I've tried several other sandals over the years, but still love the Alps style best. Thanks for bringing them back!

Love them. Cute and comfortable but the sizing was too big for me - not true to size.

This sandal is a revival of the "Alp sandal," which was popular back in the 90s (Teva also sold variants of this style until 2016 or so). The size I ordered was fine in terms of length, but the straps are extremely tight, almost painful, and required more adjustment than usual to get to my liking. The large ankle strap rubs my heels, but if I loosen that up, it puts too much strain on the top of my foot. So I had to find a nice balance of keeping the straps tight, but not too tight. I have no doubt the straps will break in and become more comfortable over time, but I was not expecting the amount of break-in period these required. Beyond that, though, I really like the template. Keeps your feet securely in place, which is always an issue I've had with sandals. You have three different straps you can adjust, although I find the top and toe straps rarely, if ever, need to be tightened. Especially since your feet will swell a little during the day. From a styling perspective, I get this is supposed to be a throwback to the 90s, but pink hardware and accents wasn't my first choice. Based on the photos, I thought it was closer to orange or red. It looks fine, but may not be to everyone's liking. I'm surprised Teva didn't offer a standard all-black model, as that would also make the hardware (buckles, etc.) look smaller. Overall, I'm giving these a good rating, but these will probably not be to everyone's liking. Just be willing to accept a long break-in period, as they look and feel very different from most other Teva offerings.

I like the style but I've had trouble figuring out the straps. Especially the ones at the toes. I can't get it adjusted so it won't gouge my pinky toe.

LOVE these sandals; but the ankle strap is WAY too short & fits too low; & is made poorly with different strap lengths on the different sides of the ankle strap so that physically CAN'T be pulled up to the right place in the ankle. as such, it fits EXTREMELY low on the ankle -- way below what would be a secure fit. i don't know if i just got a faulty pair, or this is the way these are, but basically, you'll be getting beautiful, retro-looking sandals which DON'T really deliver on the execution. it's a bummer. i hope teva's can go for higher quality next time & an ankle strap that actually fits, because these are awesome. please do NOT reuse these feet pics. i do NOT give consent for that. this is just to warn people about the ankle strap problem!!!
