I have been wearing the classic Z1 sandal for over ten years, and it has been the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. The new one I ordered is similar in looks but nothing like the original Chaco. The new one is supportive , but the arch does not hit my foot right. The sole material looks the same, but is very hard and uncomfortable rather than cushioned and comfortable like the original. The sole in the toe area is not as thick. The straps are cute, but thin and rough, nothing like the thick, smooth, long lasting straps of the original. This sandal is like any cheap sandal, and nothing like an original Chaco sandal.

These would have replaced a beloved pair of Chacos, purchased in 2005, that lasted me almost 20 years, until the soles cracked. While the footbed on this new pair is still excellent, the strap material is way too hard and scratchy for my sensitive feet, almost sharp on the edges. The straps on my old Chacos were soft on the skin out of the box. I called Chacos, and they suggested I soak the new ones in fabric softener. It was clear they’d had this complaint before. I suspected it wouldn’t have worked anyway. Moreover, had I soaked them, I would have given up my right to return them. So I returned them and ordered some Tevas. They’re fine, but wish I had some Chacos like my old ones.

I love the adjustable straps and arch support. These are lighter than my original Chacos, which I like. However, time will tell if the soles hold up as well as the old Vibram soles.

This is a great color combo, vibrant and fun. I love the Chacos Z1 classics (no toe ring) and these are solid as always. I can wear all day all night due to excellent arch support for my flat feet. I do wish the adjustable straps also applied to fixed heel strap but it's a small quibble.

So comfy! How have I lived without Chaco sandals for this long.

I’m a true 8.5, and the 8 in these fit perfect. Love the high arch support. Super comfortable as well. Definitely put the sandal on and have someone help you adjust the straps while they are on your feet.

This sandal didn’t t lay flat when I fitted it to my foot. There were gaps and parts that didn’t lay smoothly. Generally I love this sandal style and have a pair of these that are start8ng to ear a bit so I’ll try again next spring. They have wonderful arch support that helped me through Plantar Faciitis.

I couldn't keep these. Although the footbed is good, the straps are thin, scratchy, and uncomfortable, making the whole sandal extremely overpriced as well.

Yes the new soles are not as nice as previously, harder, but still comfortable, after a couple years I just couldn't get my old Chacos to feel comfortable with the toe ring loop, so I think these will be fine. I am a size 7,5 but the 8 seems perfect.
