It's so hard to find shorts like these with a waist pocket where I can put my phone, so I was excited to try these. They're very comfortable, just snug enough to hold everything in without digging into my legs or stomach. I have a somewhat short torso, so I also like that the waist is high enough for tummy control without basically reaching my chest. I think they run a bit large; I'm a curvy 190 lbs, 5'4, and I had to exchange the XL for L. I'm detracting 1 star because the length is not as long as I'd prefer - more like 7 inches not 8 - but otherwise I'm satisfied with these.

I ordered the Spark 8 inch since the Method is no longer offered.
The side pockets are more narrow than the Method, which made it more difficult to store my phone there. Otherwise, the shorts are very good, I wore during a marathon and had no issues with them riding up or causing chafing. I would give them a five if the pocket was made a little wider for cell phone. I am in between a medium and a large size, I bought them in a large, they did not feel tight at all.

I bought a black pair and after two runs in the August heat in North GA, Im loving the support and anti-chafe these provide. And ample pockets to stash a phone, key, gel, etc. Warning - dont forget to cut the inside tag like I did. Wound up with a bit of a sore after a 10K run.

The Spark 8" Short Tight and 5" Short Tight run small. Also the material is super strong around the waist, so there's not much give. I tried to purchase online based on what I previously purchased in store and am very disappointed.

Disappointing quality for Brooks. Normally Brooks is my go to brand for running. These shorts run 1-2sizes small, have an EXTRA tight elastic band in the waist and seem thinner than express for this brand. Ill keep them in my once in a while summer rotation, but definitely not a daily choice for me!

I'm no longer a runner, but I really like these. I bought a size larger than I normally wear because I wanted them a little longer and less snug, and they fit just the way I want, are super comfortable, and are longer than other shorts. I ordered multiple pairs after buying the first one. I use these for hiking in hot weather and for working out at the gym.
I think the secure back pocket for phones is a great idea, and I really appreciate having THREE pockets. I also like that the side pockets have horizontal tops so things don't fall out. However, I rarely put my phone in this back pocket because it's too sweaty there.

I love the fabric and color of these shorts, however I found they were too structured for legging shorts. The waist was cumbersome with two layers of too-tight elastic and a drawstring between those two layers. Its just overkill and created a muffin top on me. Im not overweight, but have had children. The hips are also structured with darts so the leggings actually emphasize my hips. Since I generally am straight in the backside I didnt like that look. So I guess if you have an hourglass figure, you will probably like these shorts. I found them to be high quality, but didnt care for the pattern. I would have preferred a traditional compressive legging with a basic yoga style waistband. The two pockets on each side were nice but a little narrow.

I liked that they are tight and have plenty of pockets. I did not like that the little emblem on the leg (like a swoosh) peeled off after using them for 3 days of workouts. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary as far as workouts (running, yoga, boxing) so nothing that would rub it.

These are very comfortable. They run larger than the Method shorts. For reference the L is tight in the Method and loose in these. The waist stays up and the legs dont ride up. However, the black shows sweat really bad. Very surprising! I plan to keep them but likely only wear them in the dark.

I prefer wearing shorter, flowy running shorts, but as I increased my running mileage above 9 miles my inner thighs started to chafe. These shorts are the perfect length - not too long but long enough to prevent inner thigh rubbing. I also love the two deep yet discrete side pockets, which have been perfect for my ID and a snack. I ordered a medium and they fit great (I am 5'8'' and weigh 150lbs).

My wife loves the spark compressive short tight! It is breathable and very comfortable. She likes that it looks simple and cute, but with 2 side pockets and 1 back pocket to use while she is working out.

I love these shorts, they're the perfect length to prevent chafing and they don't ride up when I run, which is a big requirement for me for shorts because I have large thighs. They're sleek and moisture wicking and super light weight and will be great for the summer. I love that they have lots of pockets. I've done long range running before and I know this would be great shorts for long distance because I would be able to store energy chews in the side pockets and my phone in the back pocket pretty securely. The waist band stays put and is high waisted so it hides my mamma belly pretty well and feels comfortable. I'm wearing a size M and am 5'3" 130lbs and I feel it fits me perfectly.

Spring isnt quite here yet but I found a pair of great shorts. They are comfortable and breathable - no awkward sweat stains. Ive used them primarily for strength training and HITT training as its a bit too icy to run outside yet. My only major complaint in the phone pocket doesnt fit my phone very well. It works with my husbands smaller phone but not my larger one. I would also say size down if you are close right in the border. I have size large and wish I had gone with a medium. For reference, Im 55 and 138 lbs.

The fit and feel of these shorts are great. They are very comfortable when doing a gym workout or on the stationary bike. The fabric is buttery smooth. Im 54 162 lbs and the large was perfect, not too tight and not too loose. I like the design and appreciate pockets. The length of the shorts are not too short where the skin on my legs can rub together causing chaffing. Nor do they ride up constantly like other shorts Ive had. The back pocket is great for my phone on long runs. I just use my smart watch to operate my phone. For workouts I tend to just use the side pockets. The pockets are what I love the most actually. They make these shorts very functional. Not only can I workout in these, but I can also wear them out and about. Ive only used these for a few weeks, so at this time there isnt anything I can think of that I would change. Again great shorts!

These are high quality well made shorts. They have pockets which is wonderful! The fabric is thick, and they seem like they will last a long time. However, they might get sweaty in hot weather. They washed very well. Although they are supposed to be snug they do run small. I normally wear a medium (I'm 120lbs, 5'1" for reference) and these were a little snug so if you wanted more room I would recommend going up a size. Honestly I will probably wear these mostly under skirts/dresses as they give some support, but also for some exercise. I like the style/cut and high waist. If they were a little more breathable/lighter fabric and true to size they would be perfect.

The spark shorts are an extremely comfortable light weight shorts. They do run slightly small in size, so I would size up. The fabric is sweat proof in nature, making. It great for long distance running in warmer weather. Inside of the shorts there is a string that allows the shorts to expand to size if needed. It also has pockets for a cell phone, making it easy to carry your phone with you. Overall its a great product. I would just definitely choose one size up.

I absolutely love these running shorts, it holds me in and helps me contract my abs while walking/running.
The length is perfect for me, I personally do not wear super short shorts, so this is great!
I love the three pockets, it allows me to keep my house key and my phone handy without being distracted or uncomfortable.
The material is very soft, smooth, stretchy and flattering. The shorts do not fall or droop, it stays in place.
Overall, its a great pair of athletic shorts and I cannot wait get more colors.

My wife has been starting a new training regime and these shorts have been a welcomed addition for her in her workout attire. She has been loving the fit, color, and the addition of pockets to her rotation. The construction is solid, materials feel great, and fit perfectly. She has actually been using these more than the previous shorts she has so we likely will be picking up more soon!

These are my new go-to short tights for my light jogging and walking. They fit true to size and even stretch enough as my backside is larger. Theyre firm in the tummy area which helps when jogging and makes me feel more comfortable mentally. They wash and dry perfectly with no shrinkage, pillage or loss of elasticity. I like the length as they dont ride up the legs at all. I highly recommend these short tights. Theyre comfortable and durable!

These are fantastic shorts! The blue color is a nice break from black but still goes with everything. This hit in just the right spot on both your legs and your torso, and fit true to size (though are a little snug to pull on in your regular size if you have wider hips like me, but once they're up they are perfect!). My favorite part about these is the slight angle in the stitching for the pockets - instead of just going straight down they are at a slightly more natural angle for your hands, which makes it a lot easier/less awkward to pull your phone or anything else out while you are running or cycling.

I love these shorts! They are the perfect combination of cute and functional. The pockets made me realize I will never get another pair without them. The fit makes you feel very secure while moving and the material keeps you cool. So comfy! These shorts are definitely a step above the rest I've tried.

The fabric of the shorts feels nice. I got them in a beautiful blue color that I love. I was disappointed that the sizing did not work. The waistband does not stretch at all. I am a size medium and I couldnt even get these on over my thighs. Everything else seems to have stretch so I thought that was odd. I loved the color and how soft they are. I wish they could change the tight piece in the waistband, so I would definitely recommend sizing up.
