Once my Wide, High Arch foot went into the shoe (struggled), it was room in the toe area, snug in the width for a 4E. I will be returning these for I am not struggling to put shoes on everyday. Shoe are suppose to go on easily, not using all your body weight to put get a foot into a shoe. For being a Men's 7 (4E). I, a woman, had to struggle too much. Reason I believe is the tongue isn't cut or made loose enough, it's attached to the shoe, cannot be bent away from the shoe.

Fit to size very lightweight and comfortable

Great! For the first time in maybe ten years I finally have hiking boots high enough, yet very light, to handle my two foot problems, plus wide feet: Severe Plantar Fasciitis and Forefoot Varus . (Forefoot Varus is a subtle twist in foot that makes it do a figure-8 pattern, subtly, every step. Tugs on the plantar fascia worsening PF strain, plus it makes-tender/ hurts the center several inches of upper foot. = The area most Mid High boots or sneakers end and thereby Hit, making shoes very painful! Other companies cushion well for PF. But Forefoot Varus doesnt get the love. This Columbia light boot is finally high enough to rise well past the would be tender area of upperfoot. Because of Forefoot Varus I can't wear low sneakers etc outside. --I'd been keeping several pairs of Propet CampWalkers (7") boots going. I'm on my last pair. When I heard Propet and Hitchcock Wide Shoes were discontinuing them I'd bought as many pairs as I could. These Columbia hikers aren't as high as the Propet's were, but they are close enough - to be very comfortable and freeing.
