Crazy shoe, too squishy, no support leading to poor balance. Very bad design.

Running in this shoe felt like running on clouds - something I was excited about during my first few runs with this shoe. Unfortunately, I noticed significant wear and tear before even reaching 150 miles of road running.

Great shoe! I have worn many different makes and models of max cushioning shoes. These are the best! Saucony knocked it out of the park with this shoe.

Tried them on, and immediately decided to return them. Way too wide, no way I could have run in them. I was very happy with Guide 15 and Guide 16, why did Saucony make such a drastic change in design to an already great training shoe?

Disappointed in the fit. The right heal is causing a blister. Never had that before

This is my third pair, and something is missing. My first two pairs after five months of running feel like they have more cushion in the middle than my new pair. I don't understand this.

I bought thes a couple months ago. They work good until I get the mileage a little higher. Then, my feet swell, and they are too small. My toes get blisters. So, if I keep the mileage low, around 4-5 miles, these shoes are wonderful. I should have ordered a size larger.

Shoes work great for me. Tried them on at a local shoe store, but they dont stock the color I wanted, so I ordered direct. If youre a mild to moderate pronator, put these on your list to try.

I've got 30 miles on these so far and I'm a fan. They have a wide base and feel quite stable. The shoes run very comfortably, with ample cushioning. I love the rockered sole. These aren't fast shoes, but they are potentially *great* daily trainers. They are perfect for recovery runs, longer moderately-paced runs, and even long walks.

Unfortunately I severely tore both my hamstrings the day before these arrived. I well not get to run in them for a few months. :(
But Ive heard nothing but great things about these shoes from avid runners.

Have always loved the guides until the 17s. Feels like they tried to copy a Hoka shoe. Theyre very bulky way to much padding plus the soles at the ball of the feet are already wearing out after just a couple of months.

I bought this roughly a month prior to write this review. This shoe is fairly lightweight. Liked the mid arch support and a bit of rocker feel

Perhaps the least durable shoe Ive ever owned, and that lengthy shoe list includes Nikes Sock Racer from around 1986 with a PU unit sole. The Guide 17 has so much exposed EVA in the outsole that it wears like paper - especially under the ball of the foot. Id recommend spending the extra $20 and buying the Tempus. The Guide 17 does feature a wider base of support for stability, but that is somewhat offset by a baggy forefoot fit. (Your heel sits a bit lower in the shoe, which does, at least, help to minimize heel slip). Your cushioning comes mainly from the footbed that seems to be etpu-based, so if youre an orthotic wearer and have to remove the footbed (insole) to enhance the arch support, for example, the shoes cushioning feel becomes boring/entry-level. The shoe does not feature the dual-density midsole design of the Tempus, so internally, it does not have that supportive feel in the arch. I had to glue arch cookies to the base of the footbed/insole to beef up the arch support. I appreciate the attempt at giving the Tempus a kid brother, but theres no way Id (again) invest $140 in a shoe where its outsole likely wont last 150 miles. Photo included with this review is only after 10 miles of wear.

I'm a nurse and I can run all over the ER in these. I've been wearing Saucony stability running shoes pretty much the last 12 years and these are my current ones and some of my favorites. Lightweight, some decent structure, great support and comfort. The fit is a significant departure from the Guide 16, especially around the heel and rear ankle, but it's an improvement in every way. Feels like the Guide ISO from a couple years ago. I wear these for 12 hour shifts in a busy hospital and I have no pain or complaints.

I have bunions and metatarsal pain. The Guide 17 Wide gives room for my forefoot while also having a narrow heel. The foam cushoning gives comfort to my metatarsal. This shoe is so comfortable that i bought a second pair!

I have run in the Guide 14 and 15s and loved them. So of course I went right back to the newest version of the Saucony Guide when it came time for new running shoes. Unfortunately I didnt realize how much they changed this from past versions. The 17s have much more cushion and a bigger sole. Some people may like this but I did not. I tried to slowly transition to the new shoes, but still never felt comfortable in them, and actually ended up with a good deal of foot pain.
One thing I noticed was Sauconys site says the Guide 17 has an 8mm heel drop (like past versions) but other sites say its 6mm. Im not sure if the lower heel drop was my issue or not. Either way Im stuck with these since I did try to run in them for a while.

The changes with the Guide 17 over the Guide 16 and prior generations makes this a no go for me. The Guide 17 is a noticeably larger shoe than the Guide 16 and prior generations. The foot strike area is different than prior Guide shoes.
The size. The Guide 17 is large and wide and felt awkward and uncomfortable to walk and run in. The widest part of the shoe, the forefoot area is nearly 5 inches wide, a half inch wider than the Guide 16. The midfoot area on the Guide 17 is nearly 3.5 inches wide while it is barely 2.75 inches on the Guide 16. The heel area is on the Guide 17 is over 4 inches wide while its a just under 3.5 inches on the Guide 16. When I opened the box I initially thought I had been sent a wide width or had mistakenly ordered something other than medium width. Its like the shoe has become an extra extra wide.
Foot strike area. The Guide 16 and prior generations my foot strike zone would be the forefoot area but the Guide 17 is the heel to midfoot area.
The offset of the shoe changed from the Guide 16 to 17 or the description on the website and the shoe are wrong. The website lists the Guide 17 as having an 8mm offset which is the same 8mm offset for the Guide 16 but the actual Guide 17 I received has a 6mm offset printed on the sole of the shoe.

I bought these a month ago and my feet have not stop thanking me. Support, cushion, and fun all in one shoe! I would definitely recommend them!

I run about 16 miles so far in my new pair of Guide 17's. Cushioning is improved vs the 16's. They are much, much, much bulkier than any of the previous versions!!!!! Don't love the bulkiness of the soles. The inside heel is different as well. In previous pairs my heel always wears out the back heel padding pretty quickly... I hope this redesign helps the heel back cushion area not wear out so fast.

While I have previously only purchased the Ride series of your line-up, I have found that, with Guide 17s additional cushioning, my existing insole is no longer required. It feels like Im running on a cushion of air, whether it be sidewalk, asphalt, or dirt. Looking forward to many more months of running with these.

This shoe is finely crafted, and fits the foot with the bunion well, but too roomy for the non-bunion foot. It's hard to find the right balance.
