I have bought these shoes for 10 years. This year they changed the drop from 6mm to 8mm and made the show cushy like Hoka. This ruined the shoe for me and actually has my knee hurting a bit while running. Im only 30 years old.
Changing the drop on a shoe is a huge deal, as that is what makes the shoe consistent for return buyers. If the 16 felt good for you, this 17 might not. As in the past you could consistently purchase the shoe year after year and receive that familiar supper comfort on your run with the stiff sole and 6mm droop.
Why change a good thing ? This shoe was so good because it stuck to the tried and true form supporting feel.
If we want a Hoka we could go buy a Hoka.
I hope they bring it back to their bread and butter like the guide 14 next year.

Could use more lateral support and cushion. I ordered 2w, but feels like 3w. Let's see about wear and tear.

These shoea are excellent for my osteoarthritis. I wear these for work and the shoes provide all day comfort. As a 65 300 pounder I would recommend these shoes.

I bought these shoes about two months ago primarily for the gym. I have found them to be very comfortable, yet very supportive as well. I have a chronic Achilles tendon problem and these shoes help ease the stress on it.

I purchased these shoes on 8/15/2024 and have put 215 miles on them since then (I track my running shoes pretty closely). I usually expect my shoes to hold up at least 250 to 300 miles and the first 150 miles were in these were great - comfortable and supportive. Now at 215 miles, these shoes have had their tread completely ground off and look like they've had more miles on them than they actually do. Saucony's products, as a whole, has continued to go down hill in terms of quality.

The shoe was purchased as a warranty in kind replacement.
The initial wear of the shoe has been nothing but fantastic but more importantly the dedication of the company to its customers and follow through in the craftsmanship of the product has been especially great!

A Solid Choice for Shorter Runs
I found the Saucony to be a reliable choice for shorter distance runs. The firm sole provides good support, and the overall comfort is decent. Considering the price point, it's a good value for what you get. However, the shipping process was quite slow, which was a bit disappointing.

I purchased the Guide 16 Wide after recommendation from Runners Alley after an assessment and scan of my feet - the fabric on the right shoe ripped from the toes to the middle of the shoe only after six months of use. I submitted a warranty claim and was only offered a 25% discount on another purchase; I find this unacceptable. Save your money and buy a different brand. Even a response from Saucony to one a review says these shoes only have a life expectancy of 6 months!! What a rip!!!

You sent me a defective product that was labeled with the wrong size. Then your customer service department didnt bother expediting the shipping for the replacement.

These shoes are amazing. Just as I remember them 10 years ago when I last had them. Comfortable ride and just enough support!

Special, no. But, at the same time, YES!
While the Guide 17 does not offer any superfoam, plates, or pizazz, its still might be my favorite shoe of the year.
Sauconys daily trainer here has performed extraordinarily well for me over the past few months. (I did have one pair of mine that were defective, but loved the shoe so much that I gave it a second try!)
What sets this shoe apart from the rest, is how familiar it feels on foot. Its comfortable, but not overly soft. Its stable, but not hindering. Its protective, but still offers ground feel to the user. And did I mention affordable?! Best shoe at its price point, and in my eyes the best shoe for all my heavy runners out there.

I really enjoyed the shoe when I got it but it deteriorated quickly. I noticed around 150 miles that the exposed foam on the sole was starting to peel away at the midfoot. No big deal, shoe still felt great and no pains while running. I noticed yesterday that the shoe has blown out on my inner right foot. I just hit got over 250 miles in these shoes. I feel like a good shoe should last 500 miles and I'm not even halfway there. Definitely going to a different brand after this experience.

Love em. Unsure why theres so little rubber coverage on the sole (on the edges), foam in the middle. But fit and experience is great.

About 100 miles into these shoes - tremendous pair. They have a bulky look to them but NOT a bulky feel. They feel light but ALSO supportive. Alot of shoes sometimes feel like there is hardly anything between your foot and the ground but these feel great! Transitioning from recovery runs to workouts is pretty seemless as well. Great price for great shoes!
