These are my new favorite boots. I originally stumbled onto these looking for a casual boot with a side zipper for easy off-and-on, of which there are many. I don't like plain black boots and nearly never wear brown, which pretty much excluded even the most comfortable boots in that style from Timberland. Originally I would have said that these boots were beyond my budget, but these are incredibly well-fitting and comfortable for the style of shoe. They look badass, break in easily (and quickly), reek of manly-man leather, and give a substantial height boost. The zipper on the back means you never have to futz with laces while getting the look for free. These boots have my highest recommendation; you'll know where the money went the moment you put them on.

First of all I ordered the black lux color. They came quick next day actually. Fit great looked great but a small imperfection I could not deal with for this price. And Zappos is amazing they sent me a replacement but in the teak color. These are awesome boots they fit and look awesome. But as everyone knows you get what you pay for, Bed Stu is the best boot manufacturer that I know of. Pricey but worth it. And Zappos? This company is boss. Hands down best online shopping experience ever. Thank you, guys.

Excellent boot! True to size. The break in time is instantly. I just put them on and walked around my house. Super comfy. This is my 5th pair of Bed Stu. I definitely recommend. Made really well. Craftsmanship is on point.

Love my new BedStu Protege boots. I read a lot of reviews with size issue with Bedstu, but I own Corsico oxfords and now these boots and they are both a true 10.5 in size and fit perfect, especially after regarding few nights out with them. I had a pair of Post boots too that were spot on in size, so I feel they run true to size. Great tan color looks awesome with denim. And I love cap toe boots in general, so these are my new go to pair.

Love the natural look and feel of the leather.

They came in too light and almost a tan color. I was bummed and ordered them from Bed Stu as well. Both very Tan. I wanted them darker. I returned these because I tried a smaller size.

Very nice shoes. I was satisfied with the great quality, but ended up sending them back, because the size was a little weird. Very narrow feeling in the front, but roomy in the back. Wore them around the house for a bit to see how they felt, and my toes actually got numb. That might be just my feet, but I don't usually have problems with new shoes.

I'm absolutely enamored with the looks of these boots, and desperately desire to have a pair on my 4E wide feet. But alas, the makers of said boots don't do my size. This is just a sincere plea to the other side of the world to please craft these in my width. You have another pair sold if you do.

I really like the shoe style, Bed Stu tends to put out shoes I like however, unfortunately for me it ran a too narrow. I went a half size up and it was still too narrow. I am not sure what the width M is and no one online or even Zappos was able to answer that question, so if I had to guess I would say it is more narrow than a D width.

I bought these boots because of the style. And I have no complaints there. The style is beautiful. But, boy-oh-boy, they are uncomfortable to wear. Now I'm afraid to put them on for a second time for fear of more blisters. Disappointed!

Right boot was significantly tighter than left boot. Have a pair of these in a different color and same size and fits great. Seems quality has gone down for Bed Stu

I received the wrong boots

I owned a pair of Protege a few years ago. Highly disappointed in this pair. The leather is very stiff and the boot was very narrow compared to last time I bought. Not sure what happened since Bed Stu has always fit me perfectly. Something has changed.
