Loved the Mach 5s as my go to shoe. Only downsides which were tolerable were the tongue slipping and durability. Got the Mach 6s and they were off the bat easier to break in but after a handful of runs and workouts I'm not a fan. Mach 6s have a greater rocker, are more narrow, arch is higher, and stiffer shoe. If you loved your Mach 5s you'll be disappointed. If you never tried Mach 5s the Mach 6s may work as an upper Z2 and faster shoe. Overall, Im developing a few hot spots on my arch and top of foot that I didn't get ever before so definitely disappointed with the new model. If it ain't broken don't fix it is my model with shoes. I just wish shoe brands took the same approach and just created a new line to test shoes rather than retire popular models.

I love love love the Mach 5, but these are NOT good. They're too bulky, too stiff, feels like I'm running on a Styrofoam brick, please get rid of this model and bring back the Mach 5.

First day felt good, yet really the shoe is too narrow again. They don't make this shoe ini a wide, sorry to say, because the narrowness I have to return them. They are soft, almost too soft, as makes my gait unstable. The midfoot hits the ground hard and then the rock, so the shoe is much too unstable and light for me and is not supportive enough.

I was excited about the new Mach 6 release. Hoka eliminated a few shortcomings of the Mach 5: reintroduced the gusseted tongue and adding a rubber outsole for better wear. However, taking them out for a run today they felt sluggish. Contrary to advertisement, the Mach 5 feels snappier. The Mach 6 feels more like a recovery run shoe akin to the Bondi. This is not bad by itself - I like Bondis and have owned a few pairs, and use them for more relaxing recovery runs. But in competing with the Bondi this shoe is redundant for me. Another thing I noticed is that the extended heel spur is gone when compared to the prior version. This heel spur really helped me cure out an Achilles injury a couple years back as it cantilevered my foot down gently as a predominantly heel striker. It does not have to be as exaggerated as a Ten Nine, but a slight extension really helps. I am a big Hoka fan, and that has not changed. I will always look for Hoka running shoes first. However, I've decided to sit this one out and pick up a Mach 5 on sale for now , poor wear and tongue and all, to replace an older worn out model until the next Mach version arrives.

I got the Mach 6's a couple days ago and have taken them out on 2 runs/workouts including an 11 mile walk. These are very firm for a Hoka and caused some serious shin pain that cut this mornings workout short. These aren't as soft or fun to run in as the Mach 5's and really lack that road feel. The new grip on them creates an unpleasant feel underfoot on long walks and isn't a positive for the shoe. On a run these are good for picking up the pace but feel very bland and unexciting overall. These are also a narrow shoe that feel very unstable underfoot so be conscious of that. They do look great and have good turnover when picking up the pace but that's where the positives end. A disappointing 6/10 type shoe for me.

I like the shoe. I ordered a similar pair about a year ago. I got this new pair from Zappos a couple of months ago. I notice when walking they squeak a lot. I thought maybe I just have to break them in but that is not the case. I have walked close to 10 miles in these shoes and they don't squeak any less. I am just wondering if I received a bad batch.

Bought because it was supposedly a wide shoe. Bought my usual size initially. Could not get my foot into the shoe. So, total fail. Won't waste time and returning aggravation with these shoes again.

I have bought many, many Hoka's over the years, mostly due to issues with my feet. Historically buying size 10,5 Wide (E) would allow me to wear shoes comfortably. Recently however, the shoes are narrower, leading to discomfort. This has been true for recent purchases of the Bondi 9, Transport GTX, and in this case, the Mach 6. As a VERY loyal customer and someone who needs these shoes for comfort, I'm very disappointed that Hoka has unilaterally changed their dimensions without any warning or recourse.

I read and watched a lot of glowing reviews about this shoe and got excited when I saw there was a wide version. When I got the shoe and tried it on, I had to check the label on the box and inside the shoe to make sure it was in fact a wide shoe! The toe box was way too tight. Mind you, my foot isn't excessively wide. But I could feel my toes starting to cramp just a couple minutes after trying on the shoe. How is this a wide shoe, Hoka? I also found the shoe's geometry to be a bit off, making the shoe feel a bit unstable. This was me giving Hoka another try after a painful experience eight years ago with a Clifton. I'm disappointed that after all that time, Hoka still hasn't figured out how to make a proper wide shoe. So, yes, I would recommend this shoe to a friend -- once they have a narrow foot. Wide-foot runners beware!

I ordered the wrong size (10.5) because the True Fit guide is very wonky - I normally wear size 9, so I should have thought better, but I went ahead with the 10.5 after calling customer service and they had me measure my foot and confirmed that the 10.5 was the correct size. Wrong. Maybe a 9.5 but not a whole size and a half larger. But I'm going to return these shoes instead of exchanging them because I could feel every little pebble, crack in the sidewalk and bump in the road with these Mach 6 shoes. I know a lot of people run in them, but I have extra soft foot pads and high arches, which make these Mach 6s too tight on my foot with too little cushioning.

Can't recommend this shoe for comfort. Definitely a lower quality shoe. The tongue is short and doesn't protect the top of the foot.

I've been a dedicated fan of the Hoka Mach series for several years, wearing nothing else for my runs. I currently have six pairs in my garage, all in size 10.5, but frustratingly, each one fits differently. Some have a spacious toe box, while others feel uncomfortably tight. A few pairs run long, but the newer models seem noticeably shorter. After my most recent purchase, I've decided it's time to switch to a different shoethe sizing inconsistency is just too unreliable and aggravating.

I have been wearing Hoka Mach 6 running shoes for the past three years. I have been using them as a everyday shoe due to the comfort they provide. However, the last two pairs I have purchased, one pair directly from Hoka and the other from a large sporting goods chain. Both pairs squeak when walking. One pair I stopped using as it was embarrassing to be walking by people at work hearing then squeak so much.

I've always heard great things about Hoka shoes, so I decided to order a pair during the Christmas sale. Unfortunately, I'm a bit disappointed. The shoes are very comfortable, but I don't feel stable in them it's like standing on a boat that rocks back and forth. Maybe Hoka just isn't the right fit for me, but I can see how others might enjoy the cushioning and comfort.

These shoes are definitely perfect for the right person. But if you have the slightest bit of outward roll, you’ll get no support at all. You need to have perfect, linear stride to make these work. Someday I will learn that hookah is fantastic at marketing and very mediocre at making good shoes. Someone at Gooodwill is going to be very happy with these.

I bought size 7.5 2EE. The sneakers fit fine in length and in width. My regular shoes size is 8 M. The from of the shoe is 1.5" above the ground. Wired to walk. Feels like one may fall on their face while walking. The tongue is finish with a slice a very thin rubber or some other material that looks and feels like it. The biggest problem for me, the sneaker and the tongue come up very high up front. So when I bend my foot while walking it pressing into the front of my foot in uncomfortable way.
