The midfoot is too snug. The shoe's attributes fits my needs but it is too slim in terms of width. I cant even wear normal thickness socks with these. I like these for walking and occasional runs/workouts but my feet feel suffocated. I understand there are other Altra's that could fit the bill but I like these aesthetically and they're not too bulky! I can wear them everyday. I feel like the slim foot shape alienates a lot of potential customers so please consider offering a wider fit.

I have worn different foot-shaped shoes for a while now. For my main running shoes, I've been wearing Hokas. I finally got some Altras and tried them on today. Unfortunately, they're actually narrower than the Hokas. I'm hoping this model is just a one-off, because people are always raving about this brand. If there is a different width in different models, the website should be clear on that.

I bought these shoes five months ago. Everything was perfect for the first month, and then I started wearing them as my daily shoes. After that, my right little toe (on the top and outer side) started developing blisters, and the skin between my little toe and ring toe began peeling. I endured this for four months, hoping it would get better with time. However, nothing improved, and my toes itch every night when I sleep, requiring me to use ointment for relief. The length and width of these shoes fit perfectly, so I don't think it's a size issue.

The strip right at the start of the toe box feels like it is crushing the top on my foot and is extremely uncomfortable. 10.5 Torins 7's feel great, 10.5 Rivera 4 feels too small

I have had this shoes for 3 months and there are some holes on the sides. I use the for running. They are very comfortable, but they are too expensive for how long they last.

2ed time I've encountered the new model is completely different than the previous year model. The purpose of the shoe completely changed to a stupid cushion shoe. So disappointed with the consistency.

I bought this shoe because it was recommended. Altra doesn't provide an actual shoe size width so I didn't know what I was getting into. It didn't fit. Tried to return it. Guess who never got a refund

I've been using the Altra Rivera 4 for about five months now, mainly for light activities like playing with the kids in the yard, running errands, and walking the dog for 0.5 to 1 mile in the mornings. While the comfort of these shoes is undeniably great, I've run into a few significant issues. The biggest problem is the back heel support, which has completely worn through already. For shoes that are relatively new and used for such low-impact activities, this level of wear and tear is unacceptable. Additionally, the toe area is starting to come undone, which is another durability concern. Moreover, the color is misleading. Despite being advertised as black, they are actually a noticeable grey, as other users have also pointed out. They're not close to the color shown in the images. Overall, while the comfort is good, the lack of durability and the color discrepancy are major letdowns for this price point.

My shoe size is 6.5 as a 28 year old adult male, and they do not have that available.

Bought the black pair for work. Received them pretty quickly and the website lists them as "black" and the box lists them as "black" these are grey. I have to return and look for a different pair which is gonna take another week to recieve. Very disappointing. Picture added for detail between two other pairs of black shoes.

The amount that the sole extends beyond the body of the shoe at the sides of both heal and ball of the foot gives me stability against ankle sprains. I happily wore both the original Rivera and the Rivera 2, which gave me a perfect fit, but this dimension is smaller around the ball of the foot in the Rivera 4, making whole shoe worryingly unstable for me. I'm told that the Rivera 3 is the same, so I can no longer wear this series. I can only hope Altra corrects this problem in the next Rivera, as there are still very few "slim" models to choose from!
