It is a lot more cushioned compared to the nova 3's. I feel a lot more of a return and better responsiveness and also just overall comfort. I feel like i can wear them all day compared to previous model.

Raced a 5k and did some bridge runs and the shoe did great. Great update to the traction and bounce.

I have run two long runs with a total of more than 16 miles, since I purchased them two weeks ago. I love the cushion and propulsion. My legs felt fresh after the runs. For my long runs, I love these shoes better than other trainers from other big brands.

Matured and improved version of an already wonderful versatile shoe. It's more stable, better grip thanks to the new outsole, but everything else remains as awesome and comfortable for every type of run.

Fit and size were good. However, the soles wore down rather quickly with simple gym workouts over six months. When I switched to outdoor walks, the tread disappeared rather quickly from there. The heal inside the shoe wore out to where a hole appeared at six months as well. This is consistent with another pair of the same shoes from the year prior. While the style of the shoe is something I liked and received many compliments on, I'm afraid they just don't hold up to moderate exercise.

Extremely comfortable daily trainers. Not as much energy return / springiness as advertised IMO. Night and day energy return difference compared with something like the Saucony Endorphin Speed series. These are great walking shoes and daily jogging running shoes, however I'd swap to something lighter and more energetic for race day. The colorways are absolutely AWFUL, I really want to love these shoes but I can't stand any of the colorways....do better next time Asics!!!

Had to lase lases all the way up to the top loop in order for the shoe to stop rubbing up and down on my heel. The tongue was too thin so the lases started to dig into the top of my foot, with regular socks on. Unfortunate, because the shoe itself was comfortable to walk in.

At first I didn't like the shoe, but after a break in period of roughly 30 miles, it felt better with each run. The shoe is light and can accommodate a variety of runs with ease (I'm a non elite runner). Aside from that, my only other complaints were the lack of color options during the time of purchase and the grip on saturated surfaces. However, traction returns rather quickly once out of puddles or other wet surfaces.

Love most things about this shoe but the grip on wet/damp pavement continues to disappoint. I live in the Pacific Northwest and regularly experience minor slippage on certain stretches of pavement when it is wet or damp. This is my fourth pair of Novablasts and a known weakness, so it hasn't been so bad that I don't come back to the shoe - but just really wish Asics could figure out how to fix it.

I was excited to get these because I really liked the color way. I'm very fond of the Novablast 3 and have gone through 3 pairs of them. When I ran in the Novablast 4, I noticed several differences. First, the foam is denser and heavier. If I were to characterize the difference in the foam between the Novablast 3 and 4, I'd say the 3 is like silken tofu (soft and pillow like) and the 4 is like firm tofu (denser and heavier). I know the foam is different, because the Novablast 3 uses FF Blast+ and the Novablast 4 uses FF Blast+ Eco. The second thing I noticed was the tongue. The material was is different on the Novablast 3. No complaints. The Novablast 4 has a leather tongue that bunches up when you put them on. I never had that problem on the older model. Finally, the toe box on the Novablast 4 seems more narrow. ASICS offers a wide version on the Novablast 4 and if you have wider feet, I'd recommend them. I was able to go up a half size on the Novablast 3 with no issues, but not on the Novablast 4. Overall, they're decent shoes, but they don't feel as fast. They feel more like the ASICS Nimbus 25 just not as heavy and stable. Personally, I'm going to buy another pair of Novablast 3 before they're gone.

Great shoe a bit more stable and firm and wider grip, not much different from the 3s but my goodness the 3s were so reactive and I feel with the 4s i have to put in more work to get moving

Unfortunately the high heel pad change has caused blisters on the back of my heel. Previous version had short pad at Achilles heel height.

I need to return these shoes. It is not that they are defective, but they are "standard" width, and I need something wider.

I love the Asics brand and have owned many pairs of running shoes over the years. I ran through three pairs of Asics Novablast 3s and absolutely loved them as daily trainers. My son is a top tier runner and also loved the Novablast 3s as daily trainers. My girlfriend also jumped on board and loved the 3s with a couple pair of her own. We all recently bought a pair of Novablast 4s and are utterly disappointed. They are much firmer than the 3s. I guess Asics replaced the foam with a newer and "improved" foam which unfortunately does not feel like an improvement. None of us will buy another pair of 4s. With that being said, I still gave it a 3 star rating because it is a solid shoe. I think the 4s upper was improved over the 3s but I hope Asics is listening and goes back to the softer feel of the 3s. I have seen numerous similar reviews stating the same thing. Bring back the Novablast 3 foam PLEASE!

It has a lot of cushion which can be a plus,, the arch support is not great, the breathing in the shoes is terrible. 4/10!!!

Needs a bit tighter heel, a wider toebox, about 4 mil increase in drop, a bit firmer sole and this should be perfect

Not as good as the Novablast 3. I've got just shy of 100 miles into the Novablast 4 including 1 marathon and while I enjoy the shoe overall, it's not as breathable and the upper isn't as comfortable as the 3. The shoe is too plush and closer to the Novablast 2 in overall comfort. Version 1 and 3 are more enjoyable than this one in my opinion. I'll still probably buy one or two more pair, just not as excited as I was for the 3.

I must be in the minority on this one. I'll start by saying I like these shoes better than most daily trainers I've tried but they are my least favorite of the four generations of Novablast I love everything about the shoe and believe it's the best fitting upper and outsole yet but the midsole is just too stiff for me but I'm a lightweight runner so maybe that's the problem. For me the nova3 midsole is vastly better. I've got over 100 miles on them and they just don't feel great.
