I love Merrell products, I have 5 other shoes from them. All size 10 and some were on the larger side but most fit perfectly. That said, I was really excited to get a new pair of Merrill hiking shoes. I wore them around the house, wonderful feel & fit. Took them on the trail. My toes got eaten up on the way down on My Si. The toes froze, esp the left foot. I havent worn them since & I am in the process of getting a refund or a different Merrells.

This is my second pair of Moabs. They have always lived up to whatever I throw at them. Its a good, sturdy shoe which helps my knees so I can keep walking the trails with my dog, through the rain, mud, leaves and snow.

I have a hard time finding shoes I like. But these shoes are some of my favorites. I got them a little over a month ago and went on a backpacking trip. Theyre waterproof (we were hiking through rivers) and I didnt get any blisters. They were shockingly comfortable as well. Great function and comfort. Highly recommended

I wore these to 'try them out on my dry, paved driveway. After a few minutes my right foot was experiencing a burning sensation and became very uncomfortable. I assume the shoe is defective as I do not have this issue with any other shoe I own. They are unwearable. I called to return them and was told that they cannot accept them because they were worn outside (even though they look completely fine. So now I am stuck with a defective, unwearable shoe. It would be nice if Merrell would stand behind their products. I am officially done with this company.

I have a high instep and suffer from plantar fasciitis if I dont have proper arch support in my shoes. After trying every other highly rated and recommended hiking shoe, and returning them because they just didnt work for me, I decided to circle back to Merrell. Years ago, I had a heavy, leather pair that served me well on a trip through Germany and held up over the cobblestone streets, etc. but I had tried and failed to find an equivalent until the Moab 3. Right out of the box, I took them for a 3 mile test walk. Regular size 8 fit perfectly on my wide foot, with plenty of room in the toe box. I could adjust the laces for a comfortable fit over my high instep, but still cinch them at the ankle to lock my heels in with no slipping. Arch support was superb. The Moab is one of a very few shoes where you can get both Gore-Tex waterproofing and a Vibram sole. It is a heavier shoe with a very stiff feel underfoot, so it took some getting used to. For me, after clocking a total of 12 miles in the shoes, the weight didnt bother me anymore, but if you do urban hiking, you definitely feel like youre pounding the pavement. The shoes really excel on softer trails where they provide sure footed confidence. I do wish the insole had a bit more cushioning in the forefoot because after about 3+ miles, my foot starts to tire in that area. Ive toyed with the thought of switching out the insoles, but I dont want to mess with the arch support. So glad that I decided to give the Moab 3 a try. This shoe is legendary for a reason.

I just spent a soaking pouring rainy day watching my grandson's lacrosse games in Vermont. I wore my Moab 3 GORE-TEX and sat in a folding chair after walking a long distance on wet and muddy grass and through puddles. I was so pleased that my feet stayed totally dry! I really couldn't believe it! This is the first pair of merrell waterproof hiking shoes I have owned but it won't be the last. I HIGHLY recommend these shoes!!

I love the Moab 3. It is so comfortable, I want to wear them all the time. They have been great on hikes. I originally purchased the Antora 3 and during the first 30 days I kept trying to convince myself they would be ok but there was a seam that was rubbing against the back of my ankle so I sent them back and got the Moab 3 and I am so glad I did!

Disappointed in how the width changes from the Moab 2 to the Moab 3. This shoe squeezed my small toe on each foot.

I love these shoes! My problem is, I walk on concrete with my dog, Louie. The shoes make a click-clack sound while walking so loud, it's annoying. Is this normal or defective? Willing to try another pair as window just closed.

I do love my Merrell MOABs, and I buy myself a new pair every year since I do so much standing and walking outside for my job. I need good support and some confidence in my footing after breaking my leg, and these are my go-tos for that. The only thing is, that despite spending the extra on Gore-tex, I do sometimes feel just a bit of wetness seep through. Otherwise, would be 5 starts all the way.

Super study and comfortable. Went for a 10 mile hike the first day I wore them and my feet felt great! I did have to return one pair (and then switched to a different color!) because something felt weird in the tongue/top of foot area but this final pair is magical! Haven't gotten them wet yet but looking forward to seeing how they do.

Left shoe hurts top of foot, all other Merrill purchases in past years have been fine, no complaints. The fabric attached between the top of the tongue & shoe itself seems bulky/excessive. Have to wear the shoe loose in that area in order to use them

Just bought my third pair of Moab 3 GORE-TEX shoes in 6 years. I reconditioned the second pair with new laces/insoles and am wearing them as I write this review from a rural village outside Santa Rosa de Copan Honduras. These are the only shoes with the fit and durability I need.

I've been a long time user of the Moab, since the first moab shoe came out a long time ago now. The original shoe was extremely comfortable and perfect out fo the box and broke in well for everything from hiking to every day work and around town. So I figured I would try the newest Moab 3. Off the bat, I noticed a silght difference in the fit, especially in the heel area. The fabric in the heel is a two piece sewn together which now creates a hard "ridge line" around the heel pocket, which then rubs and pressures my heel, on my right foot. I'm using superfeet insoles, which i've always used in them. The softer midsole, I don't find is making the shoe any better. The original firmness of the midsole was perfect because it helped give just a little extra support. Also, the rubber toecap on the left shoe was also placed at a weird angle on the toe of the shoe. My biggest gripe with Merrell, is that after being bought out, their product quality and it's control have really gone down hill. But I'm now stuck with the shoe. I don't see a reason to go changing the design of the original shoe that made this one of the best out there.

Have been wearing Ecco for many years, but this boot got such good reviews, I decided to give it a try. It fits quite a bit differently than what I am accustomed to, but it did fit right out of the box, hugs my foot all around, has good arch support, and as a bonus is a great color. So far, I am very happy.
