I had originally ordered one of the brown options in XL, but the XL was huge. I had it returned and exchanged for this navy blue in size L. There is a very huge size difference in the L and XL, I went with the smaller size but if you are on the edge of L being too tight and like a lot of extra room, I'd go with the XL. Other than that, it looks nice, feels good, and seems to have nice quality. Overall happy with purchase.

Coat looks and feels great but the only coat I own that doesnt come with a place to hang it. So you have to carry a coat hanger with you...

Bought this coat in blue on my way through Charlotte NC over a year ago. It's true to size, very warm and extremely comfortable. Sleeves won't restrict other garmet worn under it either. Get lots of compliments every time I wear it out.

Nice jacket, this color looks different on arrival. Exchanged for a different color and sized down.

Loved the material but fit wide. Normally a large. Fit the shoulders but way to much in the midsection. Unfortunately had to return.

Pictures are misleading as the fit of this jacket is much boxier, the seems on the front top of the shoulder stand out a lot more and the chest pocket is awkwardly placed (hidden by the chosen angle of the pictures)

The coat looks great on the model, as well as on models in the store. But, when I brought it home, it is too boxy in the lower half. Someone already said this in their review, and I should have listened. I am nearly 5'11" and weigh a little less than 160 pounds, bought a Medium, and it looks like the Carmelo Anthony Signing Coat from 2003. You can use that sizing for reference. Did not try the small, but the guy in the prior review said that if he went smaller the shoulders were too tight. Look at all the "lower star" reviews, and you will see that it's not that the people hate the color scheme or materials of the coat, it is the sizing ratio. Who knows.

Looks great for 30 days Nice fit, very warm. But it starts to pill very quickly and begins to look ratty after a couple months not worth the money.

Looks nice and it is warm. However I have worn it about 12 times and the pilling on both arms will soon turn this coat into looking like something I have worn since college. Disappointed in the quality.

I couldn't tell from the pictures online how pronounced the shoulder piping is--almost makes the shoulders look like shoulder pads.

My husband apparently fits between two sizes of this coat so we weren't happy with the fit. He fully measured as an XL but it was way too big and the L was way too small. Also, the quality of the material was lacking.

Purchased coat for my husband who is 6' tall. Med weight, but not obese by any means. Coat is very nice, well made as far as material and construction is concerned. But, overall, it was a size too small. We are frequent consumers of Johnston & Murphy, so we know how their clothing and shoes run. But, we returned the coat, and are awaiting a refund.

The cuffs at the end of the sleeves are a different shade of color from the sleeves. The sleeves are short for an XL The lower half of the jacket is far too large and boxy, but a smaller size won't work due to shoulder tightness and short sleeve kength. .

I received a coat tagged as a SMALL but was actually a LARGE. Extremely disappointing as it was a Christmas gift for my husband and we didnt realize it till he was about to wear it out. Definitely not expected from a premium brand like J&M and at this price point.

I ordered this for my husband for Christmas in a medium, which is his size in pretty much everything. It was very oversized. Unfortunately Johnston Murphy is discontinuing the small in every color...

I purchased the grey car coat and after only a few wears, the fabric is pilling terribly. I regret purchasing this quote and have lost faith in JM products.
