I only wear birkenstocks -- have over a dozen pairs -- and i wish these had worked out. i wanted to love them. I ordered my usual size (39) in N width, but they were too large, right out of the box. I put the buckle in the last hole but it throws off the fit. the length is just too long; and even the N width feels too wide. i own several pairs with the narrower strap from past years and love them, but this revised style is a non-starter for me. sadly, i'm going to exchange this pair for another pair of arizonas or gizehs. i only wear birkenstocks, so this was a disappointment. i do love the brighter colors this year. and i still love birkenstocks!

I have a wide foot. Reading previous reviews, I thought that these would be ok as they tend to run wide. The strap is wide enough, but the toe area is angled in a way that does not fit a wide foot. The footbed does not line up properly with my foot. Had to return since the ridge fell right under my big toe. Really cute sandal. I wish that Birkenstock made some of their more fashionable styles in regular widths.

Love the style lie better than any Birkies ever, BUT, plastic sole??? not for me, sadly.

I am returning the Brandy Nubuck Madrid Big Buckle sandals because the leather strap is very stiff and did not feel right on my feet. I ordered the Yellow Ocher Madrid Big Buckle sandals at the same time. the leather strap on the yellow sandals is pliable and feels very comfortable on my feet.

These are so cute but on the narrowest buckle it was even a bit wide. My feet are very average width. Had to return.

I have to return this pair & size down, however they are adorable!

Despite the pictures, the footbed on this pair of shoes is fake cork - plastic. Yuck. For the money, it should be cork like the rest. Also, these are so large as to look like clodhoppers. Returning immediately.

These sandals are so super cute!!! I'm so sad the fit of this style was so poor overall. I put them on and walked around the house and my foot slid around in them the entire time. When I stopped, my foot was shoved so far forward in the shoe, my toes were hanging over the front. I LOVE the look and feel of them when I just stand still, but sadly I would not be able to do much walking at all in these. The one-strap-on-top style just does not provide enough support or stability. Therefore, I'm returning and I'll stick with the more traditional Arizona style for all future Birkenstock purchases.

The toe box was a lot narrower than I expected. Did not match up with my fave pair of narrow Arizona's

VERY CUTE AND STYLISH FOR BIRKS. THEY WERE TO NARY CAUSING THEM TO BE UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN I WALK. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THEY DIDN'T WORK OUT.

I really wanted to love these shoes, they are cute, well made and have a comfortable foot bed but the strap is very wide, even tightening it as much as possible it was still lose and looks odd. Unfortunately they had to be sent back.

Love the big buckle! I have never had a pair of Birks give me blisters like these though. The leather is very stiff and I have to find a good way to soften it before I can seriously wear these shoes - the only reason that I took off stars.

Loved everything about this except just was NOT a fan of the SHINY gold buckle. Might have liked more if the buckle was not SHINY gold maybe a more distressed brass/gold.

These are made very cheap for the price ! Very unhappy with quality

My foot is not all that narrow but these allegedly narrow sandals swam on me!

True to size but the edge of the strap dung into my toes making it impossible to wear them.

The straps are very firm which caused some discomfort and blisters.

So stiff they cut into my foot.

Lovely style but the green color looks horrible and cheap in the plasticy material. Not worth the price tag, returned.

I have a wide foot and these were still too sloppy, though I loved the patent leather

The patent leather is a harder leather so the strap at the top rubbed my foot. Not comfortable at all.

I returned these birkenstocks because they were so hard to stand on. I do wear birkenstocks in different styles and was trying out another style but did not like these

These are not the quality I'm used to with Birkenstocks. They look and feel cheaply made.

These are so cute I have been wearing them around the house to try and break them in. They are my least comfortable Birkenstock shoe because the buckle digs into the top of the foot if tightened for a snug fit to prevent the shoe from flopping. This is magnified by the inflexible sole. Without the snug fit, my foot slips too far forward. My feet are super narrow so the narrow size otherwise works as far as width goes. However the length is a tad short even though this is my Birkenstock size in other styles. Unless I keep my foot fastened in with the buckle tightened, my toes will slip out over the shoe for a truly cringe- worthy look and feel. I’ve worn them for a few days and they are used now so I can’t really return them. I have tried really hard to make them work and will wear them as a house shoe as I decide if they can be an outdoor shoe. I’m hoping that if they continue to mold to my foot and stretch that they will work but this is nowhere near the typical love at first feel I get with Birkenstocks. If they weren’t so darned cute I would have immediately returned them. They are not the Birkenstock’s I’d wear on a day with a lot of walking, which is what I typically want in this brand of shoe- a sandal like the others that I could walk to the end of the earth in. I would recommend trying a couple of sizes before settling.
