Very odd fit. The strap for the toes is way too far back so unless your kid has super long toes (and mine kind of does) I don't see how these will ever fit. I kept them for a bit to see if he'd eventually grow into them but it's not a question of that, the toe strap is sewn in the wrong place leaving way too much space up front, even when they fit. Sending them back, don't want to risk trips and falls.

Let me start by saying that I love Salt Water sandals. I've ordered them repeatedly for my daughter and have always been very pleased with the quality, sizing, and style. I ordered a pair of these for my son and they arrived with large flaking cracks all over the leather straps. I spoke with a representative who very kindly and quickly helped me with an exchange. When the second pair of sandals arrived however they had the exact same issue as the first pair. Even though I love salt waters, I think I'll pass on them this time around. Receiving two damaged pairs in a row is quite frustrating!

The style and length of the sandal were great. It is also solidly constructed but the straps were way too narrow and my toddler is not on the chubby side at all. Both straps could have used extra holes for adjustment and i would have put the holes in myself but there was no more leather left. Also the leather is hard and on hot days when it rubs on the ankles and feet created some blisters on my daughter, ouch. Pretty disappointed. Looks win over comfort in this sandal and there is no reason why Hoy Shoes can't pull off both.

The only reason I chose a 3 star rating overall is because I do not feel that these sandals are true to size. I am currently ordering them for the 3rd time in a different size. My daughter is between a size 11 and 12 in toddler sizes and I ordered both. Both were huge so I am now going to try a smaller size with the 10. Fingers crossed that they work out! Thankfully Zappos has amazing customer service and returning options available for their customers because I really do love the classic style and will keep trying until we get the right fit.

My 4-year-old daughter loved these sandals! I thought they were cute, sturdy, and provided a lot of support. However, after only three months of wear, the buckle strap broke in half so my daughter couldn't wear them anymore. Yes, she wore them daily for those three months, but don't most kids do that? In my opinion the sandals should have lasted much longer. Will try another brand next time.

I unbuckled the buckle over my grandson's instep to loosen it to loosest setting, but he still felt they were too tight. I was considering wetting them and trying to see if they would stretch to fit as the original salt water sandals with crossed straps over instep recommended. That's when my daughter noticed that leather had split just with my trying to adjust them the first time. There were complaints about this happening on Amazon, but we were hoping this might be a counterfeit problem, so we decided to try ordering from Zappos. Seems to be a problem for this color/type of sandal.

Didn't like them the front is too long. They looked odd on my daughter. The originals look much nicer.
