Purchase a black pair firs. Very comfortable. Takes a few days to break-in . Love the simple classic style. This pair the color Mahogany which is a beautiful shade of brown. Can easily be able to dress up or down with a pair of jeans. Plan to purchase a 3rd or maybe even a 4th pair soon.

Very well constructed, comfortable shoe. I have worn it several times. It feels like a shoe that is going to last a long time. Very happy with the purchase.

Super pleased with the Drake Derby Dress Shoe. Definitely a much more attractive derby dress shoe than I have seen elsewhere. This will definitely be one of my go to everyday work shoes but also looks nice enough that I can wear it for more formal occasions. The leather quality and craftsmanship is exactly what I would have expected from Allen Edmonds and it looks like it will hold up for many years. My only complaint was that the fit was a bit more snug around the ball of the foot compared to other Allen Edmonds dress shoes, such as the Park Ave, but these have already started fitting better with more wear and using shoe trees.

I've been looking for a dress shoe that can be worn both everyday and for more dressed-up events. The Drake more than delivers. I love its extra substantial, military look and it feels incredibly comfortable on the foot. The fit is also right in line with my other AE derby dress shoes and boots. The clean design and rich leather of the uppers give it a classic sophistication while the thick rubber soles add a cool, utilitarian edge. Just a great, all-around dress shoe I'm looking forward to wearing for years to come.

I had my eye on this style ever since it came out because it's a sleek and classic lines. Aesthetically it looks like a shoe twice the price, something more contemporary than a traditional derby which can look a little like an orthopedic shoe - what brings it all together for me is the foot feel. It's generous for a D or pushing E size, the top vamp isn't cramped nor to spacious where your foot could slide around in. The best part of it is the walking feel - it's sturdy and substantial with each step - it's not heavy or stiff. The leather quality is smooth and uniform and the outside heel area quickly soften in a day of use to feel just right.

I was looking for an all-around derby that could be dressed up or down, and these pretty much fit the bill. The fit is great, and I would say that they are definitely a true-to-size 8D, which is refreshing in the world of heritage-style Goodyear welted footwear, so no recommendations to size down a half size or whatever. They are generous in width across the ball of the foot, but I do wish the toe box was a little wider. The leather seems to be of good quality, and I appreciate that they have a rubber sole rather than leather. The craftmanship and quality control seem topnotch and, to be honest, much better than the Aldens I own.

The shoe is clearly well made and the style is timeless. The comfort is lacking. It is amazing to me to think so much would go in the the beauty and quality of the shoe and how little to no thought goes into the support and comfort. I am a lawyer on my feet a all day. By the end of the day, I am fatigued. I am average height and weight with no feet issues - it is the shoe.

The shoes are cut too high and rub on the able bone.

There are a number of things I really like about this shoe. The 2020 last is generous, which is great for my 13EEE feet that have some painful spots along their peripheries. The sole is very comfortable, and still felt good after standing on my feet for long periods of time shaking 2000 sweaty hands during university graduation ceremonies this summer. The color is nice, and versatile as well; I've worn it with gray, navy and green slacks. My only complaints concern the quality of the leather. No way to say it except "it feels cheap": thin, stiff, very prone to wrinkling and doesn't seem to take a polish very well. Could be I got a pair with substandard leather, but I'm holding off buying the Dawson Chelsea in the collection until i see some additional feedback on the leather.

I like the quality of the shoe, but the cuff is abnormally high and it rubs the back of my heel raw. Now I hobble when I walk when wearing the shoes for very long.
