These boots are fantastic! The Carter boots were incredibly beautiful out of the box, I almost felt bad I bought them for work. The break in period for these boots is about 2-3 weeks, the uppers will be stiff until then. I adhered to the recommendations of other reviewers and went a 1/2 a size up and I believe it was the right move. I am normally a 11.5 D in Allen Edmonds dress shoes, but a 12 in almost every other brand. I am very happy with my purchase.

I'm on my fifth pair AE boots (3 HM's, 1 Freeport, and these Carters)... These Carters do not disappoint. The most notable difference are the excellent Itshide Commando soles and the stiffer yet very nice leather. The soles are lower profile lugs, very solid, and look dressier than other lug soles. Not sure what leather this is but it is stiffer than CXL or the other leathers I own... possibly a pull-up leather? There is padded tongue compared to HM's. They respond to Saphir Renovator conditioner very nicely. Sizing and comfort seem consistent with my other AE's. They'll need some breaking-in compared to my HM's but are still pretty comfortable out of the box for me. Very solid, cool-looking boot.

The Carter is a step up from your typical mock-toe work boot. Snug fit, especially over the top of the foot. My favorite feature is the extruded sole with recessed stitching that significantly reduces wear and tear over time. AE should made a waxed, black suede version.

Carter boots are the most stylish boots among all AE boots, in my opinion. It is a great addition to your outdoor outfits. And very comfortable too.

Very quality boot and pecan leather is absolutely gorgeous. Could not be happier with the quality and construction of this boot and the sole is excellent, when I recraft my Higgins mill I'm switching to this sole. Never tried this last before, it's a bit narrow. Sizing note: I ordered a 10.5 3e in the Carter and wear a 10.5e in the Higgins mill. My 10.5e Higgins mill feels roomier than my carters.

I love all the colors but have Pecan. A little hard to put on/take off without unlacing the top eyelets. I personally much prefer the "hidden" Commando sole to Dainite, which I think can be very slippery on a wet floor. I can hike in these and dress them up. Leather is durable. Some reviews said runs narrow but this was not my experience. Very comfortable if still a little heavy.

Fantastic boot. I've have many AE dress shoes and boots but this is one of my favorite. It has the classic moctoe look with commando soles and weatherproof upper to keep this as a daily fall winter boot. It looked good in the photos but better in person and amazing fit and comfort. High quality materials. This is a bargain for what you are getting!

Super comfortable and true to size - another terrific product. Only shoe manufacturer, I know will fit every time!! Not inexpensive, though the quality and fit are worth the investment!

I am very pleased with this boot! Chromexcel leather on a moc toe boot, you can't get any better than that. No gussets on the lace neck like Higgins but that's really the only downside to this boot. Other than that, it's perfect!

The boots are great, look good and are comfortable. Only issue is the tend to run big. I typically wear a 9-9.5D but in these probably should have gone 8.5. None the less with a thicker sock they're great!

This boot looks the same in hand as it did advertised. The teak is a nice color option to match various clothing options. May be the stiffest leather I've encountered with Allen Edmonds. Breaking in the boot is taking longer than normal, but still not uncomfortable.

Beautiful shoe. But after a day of wearing its apparent the toe box is too small and rubs against my foot. I am hoping the break in will help a bit but they're not very comfortable. Pretty sure I'm stuck with this
